Don't be put off that this is not Fowey - from Polruan you get to look at Fowey! We've stayed in both and I did prefer the quiet of Polruan. Fowey is a short and pleasurable ferry away after all. Parking is an issue in Polruan (as it is in Fowey) - the streets are tiny - but it actually makes the village far more pleasant to walk around. You can drive up to the cottage to load and unload, but you'll be leaving your car in the main car park a short walk away. It's really not an issue.
Where Fowey is busy and touristy, Polruan is quiet and feels like a real village. Good pub on the quay - this cottage is a lovely base. Highly recommended. And genuinely great value for money.

We stayed at Poppy Cottage in the Easter break (8Apr2017) for a week and loved it from the moment we walked in. It is homely and well furnished with a well equipped kitchen, washing machine, dishwasher and practically everything you could possibly need, even a digital kitchen radio!. All the bedrooms are a decent size and the bathroom is nice and clean with fluffy white towels provided. The central heating if needed (its not a cold cottage) is efficient and easy to use or a great wood burner in the lounge is a great alternative. The garden is private and hardly overlooked and definitely secure for little ones.
Poppy Cottage is an ideal get away cottage for everyone and perfect for families (including young children). The cottage is fantastically located in St Agnes with only a mile stroll down to the beach or a 2 minute drive with parking at the beach front for an amazing £2 daily fee. There are plenty of local restaurants, 2 local convenience stores and a newsagent. It is also perfectly located to other beaches and a short drive to lots of children's attractions such as Dairyland, Lappa Valley, The Eden project and lots more.
I would highly recommend it and will definitely be returning with my family. I can also add that the service from initial enquiry to check out was a great service!

The cottage is warm and welcoming. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to cook in and the lounge is spacious and comfortable. There is a handy downstairs loo and a big bathroom upstairs with a good shower. Beds are very comfy. We found the welcome package waiting for us and absolutely loved our stay. Food at the main hotel was very good and the staff and all the local people were very warm, friendly and helpful. Most places are dog friendly and all in all we could not find a single fault😁
