A group of 5 of us from Australia rented one of these so-called cottages. In reality, these are substantial modern homes constructed in beautiful local stone to resemble old barns. Whilst a bus passes the farm, a car allows considerable flexibility for both walking and touring. On reaching the farm, it wasn't clear where to go. Indeed, we wondered whether we had come to the right place. A sign pointing to the office would be a helpful addition. The furnishings and appliances in our unit (called 'The Gew') were in excellent condition, and the rooms ample in size. The wind raged outside, but the insulation and draft-proofing built into the building meant we were really only aware of this when we ventured outside. The shower in each of the spacious bathrooms delivered plenty of hot water. There was even a bath in one of these - a rare treat! Add a modest tariff, and in total this represents excellent value.

I am always a little wary about paying to stay in a hotel/holiday accomm,I have 13 yrs experience in the hospitality industry from holidays parks to private yachts so as you can imagine my standards are quite high. I dont mind paying if the standards are met but I get very annoyed if Ive paid a decent amount of money and my own home is nicer and more comfortable than the holiday accomm, after all it is meant to be a break away. So I was pleasntly suprised to find a lovely very large comfortable bed with good quality bedding, a comfy sofa for us to snuggle up on in front of the wood burning stove and lovely soft big white fluffy towels waiting for me when I got out of the big confortable bath. Our hosts were accommodating and we particularly loved the yummy chocolate brownies waiting for us on our arrival. We hired bikes locally and explored Redruth and Portrearh and on our second day we drove to Sennen and walked to Lands End, stopping off in beautiful St.Ives on the way back. Couple of points; 1. Dont bother with the Golden Lion, its overpriced and very average. 2. Might be a good idea to put the back up immersion heater on as after one bath we\'d ran out of hot water so my partner was unable to have a shower. Well done Jenny and Simon, overall no complaints at all and would recommend to friends and definately come back.

Blue Yonder Beach House

This is a fantastic beach house with two bedrooms, one double and another double with a single bed. There is an ensuite wetroom to the master bedroom and patio doors out onto the wrap around decking. There is also a family bathroom. The kitchen and living room are open plan and the kitchen has duck egg units with granite worktops. There is a family bathroom with a corner bath and a utility room with a washing machine and freezer. The main thing about this house is the fabulous conservatory with views out over the sea to Carbis Bay and St Ives. There is a dining table and four chairs at one side of the conservatory and seating and a chaise longe at the other side. The living room has a 32 inch flat screen TV and the whole property is full of quality appliances and designer fabrics by Laura Ashley. There are a lot of items from John Lewis too making this property a very comfortable, stylish and luxurious place to stay.

We regularly holiday in the West Country - often as two families - so we have seen our fair share of cottages. Clift Barn ranks up there with the absolute best. Space enough for two families to live together but without being on top of each other. Superb facilities inside and out. Brilliant setting. The only wrinkle is the distance to the nearest major supermarket (Torpoint or back to the bridge) and the fact that to get anywhere you have a bit of a drive to the main roads. But don't let that put you off. Top accommodation - one of the best.

The property was lovely and a geat location yet it all fell down around us when we left! Perhaps the couple who own it dont make enough yet we had our whole deposit witheld until i complained! The reason - because we had broken a glass and my children were unruly in that they left hand smear marks on the doors! Ridiculous i say! I complained, justifiably and was horrified to find that the very honest cleaning team had not declared the rather nice bottle of wine or genourous tip i had left them! But did remember the smear marks! Unfortunately it left a large smear againt a great familly holiday!

The detached cottage is set about 2 miles outside this little village of Ports Catho, it is an immaculately presented residence, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. The house has is own private parking area and all the facilities inside that you would need for a holiday, ie fully equipped kitchen, towels included, BBQ, private garden, outdoor seating for picnics etc. A lovely window seat in the lounge provides views out to sea, and the beach is a 5 minute walk from the front door. When you stay at the cottage all that you hear is the sea and local birds, it is true peace and tranquility. Close by are walks to the nearby lighthouse, and Place, where you can catch a fery boat to ST Mawes & Falmouth. The owners are very friendly and have provided within the cottage a useful guide to the local area, including walks, restaurants, shops, places of interest. A truly lovely holiday venue.

We visited this property in June and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, the owners could not do enough for us. A lovely cream tea was appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The beds were all made and the cottage was prepared for us, so all we had to do was holiday..Its an absolutely idyllic setting, beautiful surroundings and close to all that you need. You can hire bikes from a company nearby and we also walked and did horse riding whilst we were there. We visited the Eden project and Heligan whilst we were there and had a few relaxing days on the beach, which we walked to. Some great restaurants in Fowey and other villages we found. We will have to go back as a week just wasnt long enough. I would highly recommend this property for couples of all ages, with maybe one child. But if you are looking for nightclubs then the nearest one is half an hour away, this is not a party town, which we were grateful of! Fantastic location and perfect accommodation. Thanks

Poppy Cottage is cosy, full of character and had everything we needed. We found it to be perfectly located as a base to explore the peninsula during the day, and enjoyed the views across the valley with a glass of wine when the baby was in bed! It could be a bit more difficult with a crawling baby, but as ours is not so mobile yet the cottage layout was perfect for us. Penryn itself is very charming, the locals we met were all very friendly, there are a surprising number of shops for such a small town, and sitting with a coffee overlooking the harbour was so peaceful- just what we were after! Parking could be tricky in high season but we always found a space not too far away. Falmouth is only a short drive away for a bit more hustle and bustle, and we found the 24hr Asda very handy for the odd forgotten item! For me, this holiday was a fab introduction to Cornwall, it really is a beautiful part of the world, there seems to be a beach around every corner (St. Ives was our favourite) and don't get me started on the cream teas and pasties..... We loved Poppy Cottage and Penryn so much that we extended our stay, what more can we say?!

3 Place View was exactly the sort of place we wanted to base ourselves on our recent holiday, the property looks directly over the bay and is just a few minutes from the centre of town. The cottage has just been re-furnished to an excellent standard (including a new bathroom and kitchen). They do have their own website at www.3placeview.co.uk.

We stayed here in October 2010, and had a wonderful time. The location was good, only being a few minutes walk to the town centre. The apartment was absolutely spotless inside, and fully kitted out with everything you would need for a good break. We couldn't fault it, and will be back!

Excellent cottage, excellent service, excellent memories! I recently enjoyed a romantic getaway with my girlfriend at Port Cottage. We were deeply impressed with the cottage, which was fully kitted out. The kitchen was a charm and lots of fun to cook in (with the Rayburn) and the heating more than sufficient (we even turned it down at times). The location was really quaint...just as we had imagined an ideal cottage to be. We found the local fish shops provided the tastiest fish we had had in a long time. I will definitely do business with Cornish Cottage Holidays again. They were professional and convenient. All in all a week that I will always treasure

This is a very nice property. It is clean, modern, 5 minutes from the beach and very easily accessible to the supermarket, cinema and restaurants, etc.Being based in Newquay it is central and there is lots to do but it is also a great place to stay to visit the whole of Cornwall. There is a downstairs room to wash off wetsuits and store surfboards and there is also a washer dryer, dishwasher, all the mod cons. we had a fabulous time and would thoroughly recommend it. Hoping to return soon.

Hendra is ideally situated close to the harbour giving a short walk to the ferries and excursion boats. Also handy for the Hugh Town shops and Town Beach. Dogs are allowed which is one of the big reasons why we chose it. We liked: the location the decor the layout downstairs which felt adequately spacious for four adults and a dog the kitchen layout and equipment the comfortable lounge furniture and beds the well-appointed bathroom and hotel-style miniature bottles of toiletries the luxuriously large bath sheets the cream tea on arrival the flowers the friendly, helpful receptionists and Nick, the manager. We didn't like The large coffee table which was too big for the room. the way the TV kept going blank the steep (and I mean REALLY steep) stairs up to the bedrooms and bathroom.
