Great little holiday cottage. Pretty much as described in the brochure (Toad Hall Cottages). It has a good safe space for the kids to run around outside, and some friendly horses in neighbouring fields. Very peaceful - the nearest house is probably about 75 yards away. The main road is nearby and you can hear the traffic, but there is much less traffic than you might expect on an A road. Inside the bedrooms are small but workable. The upstairs living area is comfortable and works really well with the kitchen/diner at one end. You get used to not having picture windows - and there\'s plenty of space to sit outside and admire a pretty good view. It\'s all pretty well appointed, the usual machines etc. The cooker is electric which we found frustrating and difficult to cook on. But we managed somehow. East Charleton is a hamlet on a quite busy road. There\'s a garage, Spar supermarket and an outdoor store all in the same complex just a few hundred yards along the road. Not one for children to wander along alone though. There\'s a quiet private track/lane that leads down to the estuary and hence on to Frogmore where there\'s an OK pub. It\'s a pretty spot at the bottom of the lane. And the location just east of Kingsbridge is exceptional for reaching other South Hams locations. All in all a good spot. Value for money? Everywhere is a bit of a rip-off in school holidays and I guess there must be a shortage of good places or we wouldn\'t pay these kinds of prices.
