West Bay beach has golden cliffs overlooking the beach, the most famous being East Cliff. The cliffs are made soft sandstone which get eroded by the tides revealing fossils from the Jurassic period and is one of the best places for fossil hunting along the Jurassic coast. The village and beach is also famous as the location for the TV series Broadchurch which was filmed in the village making it very popular with tourists. West Bay has a small harbor with fishing boats and pleasure craft. The harbor has several cafes, seafood kiosks and shops offering fresh locally caught crab and fish, the area around the harbour is great for relaxing and watching the world go by or sampling some of the local seafood.
West Bay is a peaceful village with a great beach, it has a laid-back, traditional seaside feel and is ideal if you want to chill out and relax by a great beach.
