Description of the self catering property
Carrick Cottage was once the coachman’s lodgings for Whitehill House dating back to the early 1700’s. Carrick is an upper 2 bedroomed level of the old coach man’s house with Kyle below. Carrick has been converted into a spacious, character filled cottage entered on an upper ground level. Carrick has a large kitchen/ living room with windows over looking the surrounding fields. The room has a fireplace with squirrel wood-burning stove, a country style dresser, dining table and well equipped kitchen. A door leads to the conservatory and balcony, a great place to enjoy a glass of wine after a hard days exploring. Off the hallway are a double and twin room. Both are spacious and tastefully decorated with light pine furnishings and comfortable beds. The double has its own en-suite with jacuzzi bath and shower. Additional sleeping for 2 provided through a sofa bed in the lounge. Full oil fired central heating, logs for log burning (Squirrel) stove, electricity, duvets, linen and towels are included.Best Features
This beautiful country cottage is set within the rolling Midlothian countryside on an arable farm. With Roslin Glen nearby and footpaths on the farm there is lost of scope for exploring by foot, or a little further is the city of Edinburgh an easy car drive or bus ride.
