Townend Barn holiday cottage in Lydford is a oen bedroom holiday cottage in Dartmoor that sleeps two people and is set in a fantastic location in the heart of the village of Lydford, incredibly popular and one of the hots spots for visiting Dartmoor.
Townend Barn is a holiday cottage in the centre of Lydford, quietly tucked within the owners one acre garden, behind their beautiful house, a detached cottage converted from the top floor of a barn. Townend Barn is surrounded by original sculpture and artwork, this is a wonderful retreat from the hurly burly of the modern world.
A sloping gravelled path leads to your own lawned garden (table/chairs) and 2 steps up to the front door. Inside, open-plan with oak floors and ceilings to the apex and clever marriage of old and new furniture creating an intimate, cosy atmosphere. Living/dining/sleek fitted kitchen (dishwasher, microwave) with notable artwork and sculptures, woodburner, grand piano and TV/DVD. Beyond a heavy curtain, a pretty, comfortable double bedroom with beams; shower-room (suite).
An elegant base from which to explore the magical wilderness of the highest tors.

| Cottage Review:
Me and my bf stayed here last year. It is easy to find and has private parking. The entrance is around the back so you have lots of privacy. It has its own secluded garden which we spent many hours reading in. The cottage was nice and warm and also had a log burner. The hosts were very nice and made us feel welcome. Close to lots of beautiful landmarks. We would definitely return. |
