Pond View is high on the valley-side 3 miles (by car) from Lustleigh, 200 yards of private drive from the lane and about a mile from beautiful reservoirs (woods, rhododendrons, lovely walks, birdwatching, fishing), a very much praised and appreciated place. Attached to the charming owners' farmhouse, four very good and attractive cottages, three made from barns. All share an indoor heated swimming pool (29' x 12' x 4' deep, 29⁰C) with shower/loo/baby changing room and paved terrace (sun loungers). You are welcome on the owners 35 acre farm which includes moorland with spectacular Dartmoor tor and ancient stone row; abundant flora and fauna (badgers, deer, foxes, owls) and wonderful Dartmoor views to the sea from most fields. Sheep, lambs (in season), ducks and chickens (egg collecting). Stabling/grazing for horses available. Children's play area (sandpit, slide, swing, climbing frame, Wendy house). Games room (table tennis, half-sized snooker table, pool, football game, children's games). The paved garden at Pond View leads to lawn with picnic table, big shady trees, two ponds (unfenced, small children beware), and shrub/woodland valley-garden (deer-visited) with stream and steep, adventurous footpath down to Lustleigh (pub, 1 mile). Each cottage has its own pretty, paved, enclosed patio (flowers, furniture, barbecue). Stairgates, baby monitors, nightlights and socket covers in all (except A137). Spring water. Comfortable cottages in a lovely setting, welcoming in any season. Pond View (arrow 2) has small hall leading to utility area (washer-drier, sink); two small bedrooms downstairs including a double with en suite shower-room (suite), and one with bunks (2'6"); bathroom (suite plus bath-power-shower). Gentle stairs up to fitted kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, door to own enclosed patio); 5 more steep steps up to light, pretty living room with woodburner, TV/DVD, Velux windows. Best for 2 adults and 2 children.
