Description of the self catering
This traditional cottage has been modernised and is located in the Cairngorm National Park. It sits within an enclosed garden .There are 3 twin/double bedrooms and a large kitchen/lounge with an open fire. There are two WCs and a large bath/walk-in shower. There is excellent walking and cycling in the area.Best Features
Peaceful and comfortable rural retreat.

Dark sky area for star-gazing etc.
Outside fire area for BBQ and outdoor table tennis.

| Cottage Review:
We holidayed at Croft's Glenbuchat in July 2019 and had a splendid two weeks with our young family (2 and 4) and dog. The cottage is well set up for families with some garden toys, table tennis, a large fire pit and BBQ which we made use of most nights. The weather was fabulous and we enjoyed paddling in the stream, riding the bikes and visiting the numerous attractions nearby. We visited Glenbuchat castle, Strathdon, the kids loved the ruins at Kildrummy Castle and gardens. We explored the caves at Burn O'Vat and took trips to the Landmark centre and Aberdeen where there was loads to entertain us. Such a beautiful and peaceful location -with wildlife a plenty-we will definitely be back ! |

| Cottage Review:
We had a brilliant week staying at this lovely cottage. The cottage is in a beautiful location - it's set just off the (quiet) road and it's possible to drive up to the cottage. The cottage suited us perfectly and has wonderful views. It had excellent beds and bedding, a large and modern bathroom and well equipped kitchen. We also loved the real fire. The large, enclosed garden was fantastic for our children and they also loved paddling in the stream. It's a fantastic location as the cottage itself is quiet and secluded but the nearest village (Bellabeg) is only a short drive away and has a well stocked shop, playground and several walks. There waas lots to do in the area - we enjoyed plenty of beautiful nearby walks including Burn O' Vat and Ben Newe. Tomintoul has an excellent adventure playground for children as well as a small museum and nice restaurant. We also visited the Lost Gallery which is very near to Crofts. On one rainy day, we went to nearby Alford which has a fantastic transport museum as well as a swimming pool and several cafes. We also explored Ballater and Braemar. Overall, we'd thoroughly recommend this gorgeous cottage - it would suit all visitors from families, to hillwalkers, to people looking for a quiet escape in beautiful countryside. |
