| Cottage Review:
We stayed as a group of 12 for a family birthday. We were all looking forward to staying somewhere a little different for our celebration, but given this is a historic building expected some compromises in terms of comfort etc. This couldn't have been further from the truth. The tower not only met our expectations in terms of quirkiness but also far exceeded them in terms of comfort. Everything is exceptionally well looked after with a mixture of modern comforts and antique paintings, perfectly keeping with the surroundings. The bedrooms consist of 4 double and four twin; one might be considered an ensuite; however, several bathrooms are dotted around the property for the rest. The kitchen is well-stocked with equipment, and the dining room is perfect for a family gathering. My only caution would be that it's not for those who can't handle stairs (there are 40 up to the public rooms and considerably more to the upper bedrooms)> For anyone looking to stay in a little bit of history, I can't recommend it more. |
