Description of the self catering
Beech Lodge has trees on three sides and overlooks a meadow where we’re establishing wildflowers. Its big picture windows and spacious veranda face south with views towards Dartmoor. The lodge sleeps 6-8 in a double, a twin and a bunk room, plus a good-sized open-plan kitchen/living area with a double sofa bed. We provide bed linen. The bathroom has a bath with over-bath shower. Parking is a few metres away in a small carpark at the edge of the field. Other facilities include electric heating (renewable tarrif), solar hot water (with immersion top up), fridge freezer, oven, microwave, DVD/CD player, digital flat screen TV and a shared laundry room. Dogs and children welcome. Gold awards from the Green Tourism Business Scheme and the Devon Wildlife Trust Approval scheme.Best Features
We run Wheatland Farm for wildlife. Guests are welcome to explore our 21 acres, including our nationally-recognised nature reserve – or ask us for a tour. Borrow free farm bikes, fish the pond, BBQ or have a campfire in the meadow, and help collect the eggs. Nearby farm shop and welcoming traditional village pub with good food. Free transport from bus/train on arrival and departure for car-free guests. Well placed for enjoying both North Devon and Dartmoor – we can suggest great days out (including using public transport) and lend OS maps for local exploring.
