| Cottage Review:
We stayed at the woodland retreat over the bank holiday weekend are really disappointed & upset. I fully expect a huge refund on the cost of the weekend. We specifically requested for the hot tub to be lit before we arrived, and when we got there it hadn?t been lit and was freezing. Maintenance finally appeared hours later, and after checking, they stated it hadn?t been passed on by Sykes who we booked with!! Therefore, a massive part of why we chose this break (hot tub) we could not use until the second night as it hadn?t warmed up until gone 9pm!! Secondly, The curtains were absolutely disgustingly filthy and mouldy! Thirdly, the induction hob wouldn?t work so we had no breakfast on the first morning! Following a conversation with the maintenance guy a bit later on, he stated that they do lock themselves as a safety feature which was not explained in the guest book!! We had to eat out that morning 7 miles away!!!! Lastly, the kitchen area, enclosed with windows to three sides but open at the rear, we woke up both mornings with wasps, and four birds in total stuck in our kitchen area with bird poo everywhere and flying at the windows trying to get out!!!! All food that we had purchased and taken with us didn?t get used as we were not going to prepare food in that kitchen!!! Not to mention the endless spider webs throughout!! We have been glamping for 6yrs now without any issues, but this place, (although some aspects are good), is just poor, dirty, unhygienic, and a health hazard! |
