Water Barn holiday cottage in Manaton on Dartmoor in Devon sleeps four people in two bedrooms. Water Barn in Manaton is a child friendlu holiday cottage that also accepts pets and dogs, made in traditional Dartmoor stone, this is a well furbished holiday cottage with a range of creature comforts and character.
Water Barn is a 2 bed holiday home on the edge of Manaton, an exceptional conversion of an ancient granite barn into a spacious cottage in a beautiful place. Peaceful, sheltered, it is on a lane in a hamlet of old cottages, farmhouses and trees, 400 yards from Manaton's pub and about decent walk through woods from Lustleigh Cleave and the river Bovey.
Next door to the owners former mill (working water wheel), it has its own charming natural garden (lawn, boulders, oak trees, daffodils, garden furniture, barbecue). Woodland/moorland walks from the cottage. Inside Water Barn in Manaton, excellent decor, lighting, furnishings: comfort and warmth; immense trouble taken.
Upstairs, all open-plan - picture windows at each end - divided into living (woodburner, TV/Sky/DVD) and dining areas and large, well-equipped fitted kitchen (dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave, freezer) with granite worktops and pine floor. Stairs (stairgates) down via half-landing (half-glazed door to garden) to hall, front door and two very pretty bedrooms including a double (5' bed), and a twin; bathroom (suite with separate shower). A tranquil escape.

| Cottage Review:
The cottage is absolutely beautiful and spotless, in the lovely town of manaton, right next to Dartmoor national park, the host Ann is lovely and has made sure that there is everything you could possibly need, from a fully stocked kitchen to all the household items, even caters for you pets, with bowls and towels, there's a massive enclosed beautiful garden for your dogs to safely explore, the traditional log burner fire is such a cozy touch. There's is lovely walks all around Dartmoor, a lovely local pub, and towns and days out just half an hour drive away. We can't wait to book again for our next holiday. |

We stayed for a week beginning of may ..wow ! Beautiful converted barn spacious enclosed garden for our dog to roam ..the smell of a homemade cake on arrival was very welcoming , also woods right on the doorstep and pub just 5 mins walk away can't wait to go back ! Also full sky tv movies sports etc which was added bonus ..this place really does have it all |

This barn has been renovated to a great standard and is extremely comfortable; the owners have thought of everything you might possibly need! The location is amazing and you could stay a week here without going out in your car - we didn't touch ours till day 5! Walks from the cottage are endless and, since most of them are through the woods, very peaceful. The garden is absolutely beautiful and the sound of the water from the wheel is hypnotic and soothing; we left the windows open all the time just to hear it!
