Description of the holiday cottage
Wagtail Cottage is one of six delightful holiday homes at Lea Hill. It provides attractive and comfortable accommodation for up to four people. A mile from the picturesque village of Membury, a total of six beautiful self-catering cottages and apartments are clustered around the ancient Farmhouse of Lea Hill. The cottages are remote, yet within easy reach of the Devon market town of Axminster, with its River Cottage shop and canteen. Venture further afield and Lea Hill is an ideal centre for discovering a delightful, unexplored corner of Devon bordering both Somerset and Dorset. To the North the quiet roads and charming villages of the Blackdown Hills, the Somerset levels and Vale of Taunton. Or go South to enjoy the World Heritage Jurassic Coast—from Seaton's tramway along the wildlife-rich Axe estuary to the historic town of Lyme Regis with its fossil museum and fossil hunting. Sand and shingle, rocks or promenades—there is variety enough at our World Heritage Site coastline to interest all ages. Dogs welcome.Best Features
The living-room has a welcoming wood-burner effect electric stove; and French windows lead on to a terrace surrounded by lawn. The kitchen-area is fitted with cupboards in limed oak. and supplemented by a utility-room housing more equipment. The lounge leads to a separate dining-room next door and utility room/downstairs cloakroom with washer-dryer ironing facilities and freezer.
Upstairs are two attractively decorated bedrooms; the master bedroom is large enough to hold a pair of armchairs.

Aug 09 Got here eventually after a puncture. What a wonderful surprise! A beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting. WE didn't mind the ribbon like roads once we got used to them. Sep 09 Enjoyed our week in this beautiful part of Devon. Cottage & grounds are lovely. Very impressed with the coastal villages. Doesn't get more rural than this! Very nice & quiet . Good location for visiting local attractions. Ap 10 Cottage lovely & comfortable. Brilliant setting with beautiful scenery. |
