Description of the holiday cottage

The cottage is a delightful holiday house furnished and fitted to a very good standard to create a wonderful holiday spot. There is a single bedroom and shower room on the ground floor, useful if there are less mobile members in the party. There are spectacular views from the house, out across Loch Broom to the mountains beyond and there can be few places prettier to sit and enjoy a drink at the end of the day than from the garden.

Cottage Review:

What can I say!

Just read the negative review from 2009 and was absolutely astounded.Just couldn't believe we stayed at the same cottage. I almost expected the owners to be held accountable for the midges and unpredictable weather!!!! The owners description of the cottage in our opinion was spot on. The views from the cottage ARE exceptional and the tranquility of the location makes this a very special place indeed. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and went out of their way to making our stay very enjoyable. The cottage has excellent facilities and the location can't be faulted. OK the path down to the loch is steep but treat it as part of the adventure. Put on your boots take care and you will not be disappointed - this is the highlands after all. The surrounding area is superb with everything one could wish from a holiday in the highlands. So much stunning scenery on the doorstep and loads more beyond with some of the wildest places in the uk together with superb beaches friendly locals and a typically atmospheric village in Ullapool. All in all a fantastic experience and judging by the visitors book at the cottage plenty of repeat and very satisfied visitors.

Cottage Review:

1.Disappointing to say the least.

2.Ungrateful and ungracious host.

3.Litter strewn Gardens.

4.Unspectacular views certainly not as advertised unless you like half chopped trees and dead wood.

6.Very dangerous pathway to Loch Broom.

7. Not dog friendly as advertised.

Positives

- Immaculate and clean inside.

- Well furnished.

- Very Quiet.

- Good base for exploring.

This cottage is advertised with superb views over loch broom and the mountains. This is a very very subjective statement. The view I enjoyed was a bunch of half chopped down trees in a garden with litter all over the place. Don't be deceived by the picture as this is taken from the main road about 10m above the cottage, the view from the cottage itself is very poor.

The path way to the loch is precipitous.

I fell down it and got a fright.

Make sure you tell Mrs Bennett and not Mr Bennett you are bringing a dog. I told Mr Bennett who failed to tell his wife who in turn complained about me bringing a dog.

No BBQ was provided as promised, I did not complain at the time as the Bennett's were on Holiday and I did not want to bother them but I have been left no choice after Mrs Bennett's rude manners.

We struggled to find anywhere as everywhere was fully booked. There's a good reason why this place was not.
