Description of the holiday cottage

The Red Barn is  a 10 minute walk across Burnville Farm, is the Red Barn, surrounded by its own enclosed garden with terrace at the back and with splendid long views over farmland to the moor. It shares the tennis court, outdoor swimming pool and all other facilities at the farm. Front door to good-sized hall off which very spacious, stylish beamed living room with wood floor (rug), woodburner, deep sofas, antiques and good paintings, TV/DVD and French windows to terrace.

The Red Barn has a lockable door to indoor swimming pool, endless pool with variable river flow for ambitious swimmers and treadmill and rowing machine in panelled room with glazed door to terrace. Pretty fitted kitchen/dining room, well-equipped (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer) with glazed doors to little patio (table/chairs). Utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, loo.

All downstairs floors except living room have terracotta tiles. Upstairs, three pretty, very individual bedrooms including a double with en suite bathroom (suite plus hand-shower) and superb views to Dartmoor, another double) with en suite bathroom (suite plus triple tray power-shower) and a twin with antique Victorian beds and en suite bathroom (suite plus hand-shower), both with good views.

The Red Barn holiday home near Lydford is a really fine cottage. Tremendous atmosphere, freedom and number of things for adults and children to do, and the houses are much praised. Sumptuous evening meal menu. Outdoor swimming pool available 22 May to 12 September.
