The Gospel Hall, Fore Street, Beer, Devon, EX12 3JA

Description of the cottage holiday

The Gospel Hall (sleeps 6+1). Built in 1701 as the village 'Meeting House', the Gospel Hall is one of Beer’s most historic buildings. After years laying empty, it inspires again as a stunning contemporary three-bedroom holiday home. The location is perfect; minutes from the cafes, galleries and shops of Beer yet positioned down a quiet, private lane. The Hall is furnished to the same high standard as our other properties, and features three spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms and an extraordinary living area in the main chapel that will take your breath away. Underfloor heating keeps the building toasty in winter, high ceilings and beautiful stonework keep it cool in the summer, while natural materials and Vi-Spring beds ensure that you will feel refreshed and rested after your stay

What a great place to stay. Mal and Liz have done a brilliant job to make a 'want for nothing' stay in Beer. Gospel Hall was a great suprise; the place is superbly equipped, comfortable, spacious and peaceful. Being in the centre of the village, we were in the perfect place to set out for walks, and not only to the Anchor Inn. We've been to Beer a couple of times and would definitely visit again and stay at Gospel Hall.

The Gospel Hall was a perfect setting for a group of friends to all catch up - it really was home from home.

The hall has been tastefully furnished and had all the modern kitchen appliances you would need - iron, washing machine etc. We stayed in the master bedroom with en suite which had a fabulous shower - I didn't want to get out!

Beer itself is a fabulous little village with its own beach and a few pubs - we will definately be returning to this superb coastal retreat.

Make up of party:  friends, but would be perfect for families too.

Cottage is clean, bright and spacious. Fantastic conversion of a beautiful building, ideally located in the centre of the village, but just far enough up a little lane to be wonderfully peaceful.

Beautiful cottage, I couldn't have asked for a better place. Each room was clean, bright and very modern. Location was perfect - very central for all of Beer's attractions.

Make up of party:  We were in a group of 6 - 3 couples. Even though 1 couple had to have the twin room, it was no massive hardship. Would be perfect for families also.

Ideal family accommodation in the centre of Beer.Beautiful, tasteful refurbishment of former Gospel Hall- bright, airy and spacious. No adjacent parking but village car park only a short walk away.No Wi-fi.Lovely Devon village with good places to eat and nice deli etc.Two min walk from property down hill to attractive little pebble stone beach.Fab for rock pooling and mackerel fishing boat trips! We had breakfast from one of the beach cafes there after we'd checked out on our last morning! We ALL want to make a return visit next year, that's how good it is with lots of family things to do along the Jurassic Coast.

Make up of party:  Family of 4 - two adults and two children 10 and under. Property is very child and eco friendly.
