Description of the cottage holiday

The Clock House is a character 3 bedroom holiday cottage near Ivybridge in Devon that sleeps 5 people, a wonderful building set in fantastic grounds, The Clock House near Ivybridge is a dog friendly holiday home and ideal for families that want to explore Dartmoor with their pets.

The Clock House is one and a half miles towards Dartmoor from Ivybridge, is set peacefully in the grounds of Lukesland, a fine Victorian house with magical 24 acre garden of woodland, lawns and secret glades (seats), all surrounding a stream (waterfalls, lily ponds). From mid-April to mid-June and mid-October to mid-November the garden opens to the public twice weekly; otherwise, you share it only with residents of the main house.

The Clock House is 200 yards from the main house, beside disused stables and another cottage. Immediately outside, your own small paved terrace (furniture, barbecue). Direct access to moorland and the Two Moors Way (walking). Inside, light and spacious with beams, tiled floors downstairs, oak floors (rugs) upstairs. Stable doors to hall. Two steps down to living room with woodburner, ceiling to apex with gallery all round, TV/DVD and French windows to terrace.

Smart kitchen/dining room with microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and French windows to terrace. Utility room with loo, washer-drier, sink. Downstairs bedroom (6 foot linked double or twin) with en suite shower-room (wet-room suite, shower seat). Upstairs (stairgate), two more bedrooms including a double (6 foot linked bed or twin), and a single (VDU/DVD). Bathroom (suite, shower over bath).

Gallery above living room with double sofa bed (for alternative sleeping), sofa and desk beside ancient, safely shielded clock workings, gently ticking (no chimes). Ready meals available. Suitable for wheelchair users. A lovely place.
