| Cottage Review:
lovely property but needed better welcome information; arrived on a Sunday PM and were pointed to the village-owned local pub about a mile away for food but the kitchen had shut and kitchen wasn't going to reopen till Wednesday. So drove to Exeter for fish and chips. The other recommendation, the Agricultural Inn was also closed on Mondays so no-go there either. Bought a small supply of kindling wood to light the hottub woodfire heater with the supplied matches and organic starters. exhausted the supplied bag of logs for no temp change on our Sunday night...more logs eventually got it up to temp on the Monday night and to be fair it was v hot - us newbies didn't quite know how to control it - allow yerself a good six hours to get it usable from cold. Double bed mattress fairly soft and uneven. the memsahib had a better nights sleep on the single. Cottage itself is clean and well-equipped and a bonus that pets are allowed. pleasant walks around the rest of yonder meadow to find the other offered accommodation tucked away in the undergrowth.. |
