Description of the holiday cottage

Watch the highlands turn gold as the sun sets behind the Glen, and all from the comfort of Stag Lodge on the 12,000 acre Glencarron Estate. Stag Lodge is a traditional Victorian estate worker's cottage, which has been tastefully refurbished and finished to a very high standard to ensure you enjoy a comfortable and memorable holiday in the Scottish Highlands. Outside Stag Lodge has a nice garden where you can admire the view or star gaze. A number of local birds also visit the garden, so make sure you have plenty of seeds or nuts. On entering the cottage you will first discover the warm and cosy utility room where wet dogs can be dried and damp clothes can be put in the washing machine and tumble dryer ready for the next day's pursuits. The large and spacious living room with its calming colour theme is the perfect place to sit back and relax with a good book or watch TV. The room has two large leather sofas and two wicker armchairs, which are great for sitting beside the patio doors to keep an eye out for any wildlife. The living room is a warm and cosy haven in the winter months with an open fire to sit beside. Stag Lodge's kitchen is very well equipped an a great place to cook dinner or enjoy a family meal. Neatly incorporated into the kitchen is a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, ceramic hob and twin oven. A vast array of pots and pans are also provided and with lots of storage space you won't need to keep popping to the shops. Located on the ground floor and with beautiful views of the garden and glen beyond is the Master Bedroom with comfy double bed. This pretty room is ideal for couples or anyone who is unsure on the stairs. The downstairs family bathroom fitted with a shower, loo and sink can also be used as an exclusive en-suite if required. The three very nice twin bedrooms are all situated on the first floor and have full size single beds as well as lots of places to hang clothes. The family bathroom with bath, loo and sink is also located on this floor and is a wonderful place to enjoy a long hot soak. If you like walking you will be spoilt for your choice, as Stag Lodge is in an enviable location with the Scottish Highlands on its doorstep. The Estate offers a number of outdoor pursuits including fishing, stalking and shooting. A number of lovely village are all within an easy drive of the cottage, including Applecross, Plockton and Torridon. The beaches at Red Point are also only a 50 minute drive and are some of the best in Scotland.
