We were there for our sailing championships at Brixham yacht club, and found this a great place to stay. The cottage was very clean and well supplied.with all the kitchen appliances. It was a very comfortable place to stay, within close walking distance to the town centre. Will definantly try to book again when we come back.

Lovely cottage with great views over the harbour & bay. Easy stroll into Brixham for some very nice pubs & excellent eateries. Check out Baccos, lovely fish dishes, and the Old Market Place great beer & excellent fish & chips, Tiffanys for afternoon teak & cake, breakfasts looked good too. House inviting & warm (given it was 1st weekend in February), clean & tidy & welcoming. Looking forward to coming back again as we definitely like Brixham & the surrounding area.

Make up of party:  Couple in 50's, like getting away from rat race when we can & enjoying the Devon & Cornwall regions.

Polly's Perch is clean, comfortable and provided a relaxing get away for our summer holiday. It is so conveniently located, that to pop into the town or for a stroll down towards the marina is just a few minutes walk away. The views across the bay to Torquay are stunning, and the terrace garden was perfect for enjoying breakfast in the morning sun, or an evening drink. The cottage is well equipped with everything one might need. [Added at Editor's discretion since it appears to be a helpful review and the reviewer has been authenticated]

We loved Polly's Perch immediately and felt so at home - one week wasn't enough. The cottage is full of character, spacious with lovely open decor and some nautical tasteful touches. We were quite a large party but never felt cramped. We enjoyed the outside terrace, loved the views. Everything is very well equipped and we didn't want for anything. Such a great base to explore the surrounding area - so much to do locally for kids. We can't wait to come back next year!

A very lovely cottage with every comfort. The top bedroom has fantastic views binoculars should be kept handy. We had great fun watching a family of seagulls on a flat roof opposite who had 3 babies and 2 teenagers to care for! The weather was not so good that we could sit outside but we were able to have the front door open a lot of the time. It would have been good to have had an occasional table in the lounge for cups and glasses but we managed well without. Polly`s Perch is certainly a place we would love to visit again.

Make up of party:  One couple and our Cousin, which made the fact of having 2 bathrooms a real luxury for us.

We fell in love with this property as soon as we opened the front door. It was cosy and homely with a fabulously effective central heating system and we felt at home in no time. The rooms were spacious with ample storage and the decor was very tasteful with some lovely homely touches. The power shower in the en suite was wonderful. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could ever need and the appliances all brand new. A very short walk into town and no problem finding somewhere to park on the road outside. Lovely friendly neighbours but nicely private to enjoy the peace and quiet of the house. Great comms from homeowner and a nice personalised welcome letter with all the info you would need and contact numbers for nearby property managers should you need them left in the cottage for us on our arrival. Highly recommended.

Make up of party:  2 adults - a break away without the children. Spent the whole time saying "the kids would love this" etc and will definately be returning.

This is a great cottage - warm, cosy, clean and lots of room. We loved it. We were just there for one week but were sorry not to have longer to explore the area as there is a lot to do (boat trips, steam trains, good beaches, stunning scenery) and also we needed longer to enjoy relaxing in the cottage. It has great views out to the harbour - which look good at night and in the day. We shall definitely go back.

Make up of party:  The cottage was very roomy for ourselves and 2 children (toddler and baby). Our toddler was loved the stairs and we didn't need to use the stairgate. But cot and highchair were very useful! Also it was brilliant having a seperate utility room for all the children's washing!

Only a short walk down to the harbour makes this a great place to be situated.(Slightly longer walk back up !) The cottage has been recently refurbished with quality fittings and is well equipped.Free parking nearby on road - we never had a problem finding a space. Overall 5* value for money in our opinion. We will probably rebook for next year.

Make up of party:  Quite cost effective just for two but with two bathrooms would be ideal for two couples. A stair gate is fitted on first floor landing but might be tricky to control toddlers with all the stairs. Adults will find it good exercise ! and the side view from the top floor is excellent ( bring your binoculars )

The cottage is very clean and has everything that you would need for your stay. The kitchen is well equipped and has a lovely homely feel. On the first floor is a twin bedroom with lots of storage - wardrobe, shelving and drawers. The bathroom is a good size. On the second floor is the large kingsize bedroom with en suite which again is a great size. The view from this bedroom is over the breakwater and across to Torquay. Lovely to have that view. The kingsize bedroom has drawers and a wardrobe for storage. Overall, the cottage is nicely decorated, clean and perfect for a break. There is no parking with the cottage however parking spaces can be found higher up Ranscombe Road or overnight on King Street. We were able to unload near the cottage and then would go and park the car.

Make up of party:  We a family of four with two children age 4 and 3 and we also took Nana along too. Stairs had handrails both sides which was useful with children and Nana alike. The kingsize bedroom was large enough for us to take a blow up bed for our 3 year old to keep him near us.

Cottage Review:

I stumbled upon 'Polly´s Perch' in a last minute search for a week away from the rain and clouds of a Northern summer, and was very glad I did. It is a great holiday house which has been simply and yet very stylishly reburbished to provide a light, bright, clean and comfortable place to stay. Everything is new and of good quality and the lovely kitchen with its dishwasher, microwave and water filter were an improvement on my own kitchen at home.

The kitchen is very well equipped with all kinds of utensils, everyday crockery and a nice tea-set for a more-refined cuppa. The owners really have thought of everything - there is even a crabbing bucket and fishing line, a windbreak and a barbeque in the wash-house outside.

The bedrooms are light and airy and the beds very comfortable. We decided to bring our own linen and found the beds already had mattress protecters and pillow protectors so that meant we only had to bring duvet covers, base sheets, pillow cases and towels (tea towels are provided).

The house has a great history which explains it´s name (yes, there really was a resident parrot!) Its location, five minutes walk from Brixham, is superb and it is easy to nip down to the shops or stroll out in the evening along the promenade and breakwater. At the front of the house is a small garden where there is a table and four chairs - a lovely place to sit in the evening and watch the superb Torbay sunsets.

We hope you enjoy 'Polly´s Perch' as much as we did.

Make up of party:  Mum and I stayed at 'Polly's Perch' and so had the luxury of a separate bedroom and bathroom each. We though the steps and stairs might be an issue for Mum, who recently had a hip replacement, but she was fine.

As soon as we opened the door we knew we loved the cottage! It felt so spacious, simple but perfect decor and so clean. It was a few minutes walk from the beach, outdoor swimming pool, small town and harbour. The house contained everything you could possibly want. Enjoy!

Make up of party:  We are a family of four so suited us perfectly. We had the top double room and our children had the twin on the first floor (bathroom on each floor). If you were staying with toddlers I think you would need to take a couple of travel stairgates. It would be safe whilst on the ground floor but when on the two other floors the staircases would be easily accessable to quick minded toddlers! Plenty of room in both bedrooms for a cot or two! It would be perfect for two couples sharing as you would have a floor each! Although there is no parking specifically for the house this was never a problem for us. We had free parking within seconds of the house every day.
