Cottage Review:

The location is perfect for train lovers as it's right opposite the station. The house was just what we needed for a family of 4 plus grandparents. It was beautifully clean with everything we needed. We had plenty of space in the dining/kitchen area plus a beautiful bathroom and separate shower and toilet. A long garden led to a summer house. Although right on the road at the front, the garden was peaceful and quiet. The local amenities cover everything from supermarkets to pharmacies also a market on Mondays. There is an excellent greengrocers next door one way and a super bakery the other. Tea, coffee, bread and even a bottle of wine awaited our arrival.

good things - great location for steam railway, town centre and pubs. lots of amenities nearby and quirky shops. cottage well equipped with everything you could ever need. lovely gesture of wine, milk and biscuits left for us as a welcome pack. beds very comfy with nice linen and towels.

things that need improvement - decor is tired, needs some plasterwork filling and a lick of paint. smelt damp on arrival - this was due to being mopped with a damp, dirty mop.i sat this in bleach and it smelt much better. hoover left there for customer use was completely tangled up with human/dog hair and when i noticed it didnt pick up well, i had to get scissors to clean it out. garden was very over grown with lots of weeds around the table in the paving. outside table in need of a lick of stain to make it look good. cottage fits 6 people, but sofa and chairs only seat 5. would have thought owner would have freshened the place up whilst having time in lockdown. cooker also needed a clean before using.

Cottage Review:

Lovely comfy cottage in Pickering facing the North York Moors railway station.

The cottage was very clean and welcoming with everything we needed for our family break.

I loved the garden and made the most of sitting in it as we had the best sunny weather.

The cottage is in the perfect situation with plenty of shops near by, we used the bakers three doors away which was lovely. It was nice to use the local shops but there are a couple of supermarkets near by if needed.

All the information we needed about places to park and recommendations of places to eat were included in an email and in the cottage. We enjoyed fish & chips and we found it easy to park on Potter hill.

We took our little dog with us and enjoyed some of the local walks especially up by the castle. We could see where they were filming Mission impossible and there was lots of excitement going on that Tom Cruise was in town.

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage and loved everything about it. We would definitely book again.
