Description of the holiday cottage

Michaelmas Cottage in Drewsteignton is a four bedroom traditional thatched Devon holiday cottage that sleeps six, dog friendly with two double bedrooms and two single bedrooms. Michaelmas Cottage is in the Devon longhouse style, a fantastic property that is spacious and full of character, renovated with style and retaining the charm of a thatched holiday cottage in Devon.

Michaelmas Cottage is set on the edge of Drewsteignton, hidden from the lane and 400 yards from the good pub and village shop, a very pretty and spacious, thatched cottage, one of three in an L-shaped terrace. Michaelmas Cottage has its own beautiful enclosed lawned garden complete with loungers, table and chairs and perfect for children.

Door from garden into large, sunny well-equipped kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer). Arch through to living room with granite inglenook fireplace (woodburner). Two staircases (no interconnecting door upstairs): one from the living room up to two bedrooms including a double bedroom and a single and bathroom (suite); the other from the dining room up to another double and a single and shower-room (suite). A wonderfully peaceful and relaxed place to stay, with woodland and riverside walks from the door.

Cottage Review:   The photo's and description don't really do this cottage justice. It is a lovely spacious country thatched cottage. The garden is lovely and secure, good for dogs and a sun trap for sunbathing on the supplied sun loungers (only two though, so fought over in our group!). Inside the cottage is well equipped including nice little touches like washing liquids/dishwasher tablets etc. The area it is set in is lovely with enough to occupy an active family for weeks.
