| Cottage Review:
We have recently spent a week at this lovely house. It was beautifully furnished & had everything we could possibly need for our week's stay,even a fantastic welcome back which included a bottle of prosecco. It wasn't the house we had an issue with, unfortunately it was being on an estate that was still being built,so from 7.30am - 5.00 Monday to Friday the noise was horrendous, big lorries delivering cement, trusses etc.Huge cranes parked right outside the house and incessant drilling,hammering & the workmen all shouting to one another over the din. We saw on Sykes website ( with who we booked through) that building work was to be completed end of May 2024 ( we were there 16th June) but according to the sales office manager work wouldn't be finished till end of January 2025. We were looking forward at the end of the day to sit in our sunny garden & read over a glass of wine,unfortunately we couldn't as we weren't able to hear each speak. I think people who have paid good money like us should be made aware of these building works. Although we're not a couple who lie in we couldn't have done anyway as this racket started at 7.30am. We left a day early as we just couldn't stand the noise. We have complained to both Sykes & the owners and were still awaiting some form of recompense or at least an apology. |
