Where to start......before our arrival our hosts (Peter & Lisa) had emailed us a detailed Welcome Pack.....everything we needed to know from keypad codes to how to drive the golf buggy as well as local information.

On arrival we were greeted by Peter who showed us what was what and contact details should we need any assistance during our stay (Which we didn't).

Now to the Shepherds Hut...wow....spotlessly clean....all the amenities to make our stay enjoyable from Alexa...TV...record player....cooker...underfloor heating...lovely hot shower and views to die for and a Welcome Pack which was a lovely touch. The added bonus of private hot tub (which we used every evening) .......plenty of room for two, taking in the views and watching the stars come out as well as enjoying the wildlife (bats, pheasants etc).

We only used the cooker a couple of times during our stay, but found it more than adequate for our needs as, we took advantage of "Judy's One-Pot Meals" on one evening...(the details were in the welcome pack) who delivered a 3 course meal for two to the accommodation car park for us....the food was lovely, and really big portions.

Then on two other evenings we nipped up to High Bickington to the Fish & Chip Van (In the village every Tuesday), and the Pizza van at Umberleigh,

(In Umberleigh every Wednesday evening) both of which are very popular so advisable to pre order earlier in the day along with a collection time.

The location was great....rural but handy for Barnstaple (all your major Supermarkets), and Croyde, Appledore, Woolacombe, Lynmouth, Ilfracombe all less than an hour away.

Would thoroughly recommend....

Just had the most wonderful 4 nights staying at Little Silver Owl. It was intended to be an idyllic place to retreat to for some much needed r&r, the bonus was that it was also an incredibly romantic one

The views are stunning come rain or shine (we had both), the hot tub was great for soothing aching muscles after a day of walking, the golf buggy was a really fun addition and the Shepherd's Hut itself had pretty much everything you needed facilities wise including a lovely welcome basket on arrival.

We sampled the fish and chips from the mobile van in High Bickington and the pizza from Umberleigh, both were delicious and meant that we could maximise our time at the hut.

If you want somewhere to escape to then look no further.

Great trip away! What a way to end lockdown and take a break from work! Such a pretty Shepards hut. Couldn't fault a thing. The hosts thoughtfulness didn't go unnoticed. Starting with a welcome hamper full of lovely bits, to them decorating the hut with balloons and a banner that I sent via Amazon. Plus a bday card for my husband. The hot tub was perfect, offering gorgeous views acrosss the Devonshire countryside during the day and brilliant for star gazing at night. The hut was immaculately clean and had everything in it to make it a perfect stay. It's located within driving distances to many places to go and visit while in North Devon. We managed to fit in alot in 4 days including Lynton, Woody bay, Westwood Ho!, Bideford, Barnstaple, Exmoor zoo, Cloverlly and Chittlehampton and Iffercombe. All of which were well worth the visit. Oh yeah, not to forget the golf buggies. What a touch! Thanks for a brilliant stay xxx

Oh my goodness, where to begin. We booked to stay at the Little Silver Owl for our 10 year anniversary (and to get away from the madness that is 2020) and we couldn?t have picked a more perfect place. The hut itself is immaculate and has everything you could possibly need...and more! The quality of everything is insane, from the Eve mattress, to the comfiest pillows I?ve ever slept on (I really need to find out what brand they were) the Nespresso machine and the shower!!! We couldn?t understand how a little hut in the middle of Devon has better heat and wate

You know you?re going to have a wonderful stay as soon as you arrive.

Great little golf buggy to get you to your hut. It is walkable but would take 10 mins and certainly struggle carrying luggage.

Amazing welcome basket, I won?t spoil it and tell you what was in it.

I can?t find enough words to describe the hut, view and hot tub.

The friendly owners have thought of everything including Alexa, Nespresso and bath robes.

There are a few essentials there for you, salt n pepper, tin foil, washing up liquid etc.

Easy to get to Tarka Trail, and hire bikes at Torrin

We stayed at Little Silver Owl for 4 nights mid-January and found it perfect for a winter break. The grounds on which the huts are situated are lovely and the stunning Devon countryside is right outside the front door. The golf carts were a novel experience and added to the ambience in the night time as it really was pitch black. The hot tub added to the luxury of the holiday and we made the most of it despite the typical English weather.

What really made the holiday though was the little touches from the hosts - the welcome basket with everything we needed
