Little Evanses, Dalwood, Devon, EX13 7HB

Description of the self catering

Little Evanses is a gorgeous rural holiday cottage surrounded by flowers with fantastic views. Little Evanses is a 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Dalwood in East Devon and is child friendly but does not accept dogs. This picturesque cottage is situated on a hill overlooking Dalwood in Somerset, with all rooms enjoying a magnificent view, a detached, timber-clad, dormer-style cottage converted from a barn on the owners 4 acre smallholding. It has been converted and refurbished to a high standard.

There is an attractive footpath down the hill through fields to the village. Outside at Little Evanses, there is a lawned garden with a table and chairs, and a barbecue. Steps up to decking (gated) at the back of the cottage which projects to take advantage of the view. Modern beech and stainless steel fitted kitchen and dining room featuring a dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave and fridge-freezer.

Double-aspect living room with a woodburner, TV/DVD and two enormous 9 foot high, glazed doors with balustrade overlooking that view. Large twin bedroom with child's day bed and en suite shower-room (suite, double cubicle). Tiny porch with door to outside, and at the back, a door leads to the decking. Steep, narrow stairs (stairgate) up to attractive attic double bedroom (TV) with lovely large en suite bathroom (suite with roll-top bath plus hand-shower in the centre under the eaves).

Sleeps maximum of 4 adults. An unusual and most attractive house with wonderful views, well placed for exploring Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

Cottage Review:

Little Evanses is a beautiful cottage in a perfect place. The hosts are lovely and very welcoming, the cottage is both cosy and modern. The cottage has everything you could need and we really enjoyed our week in Dalwood. It was wonderful to sit on the garden decking and watch the wild birds, rabbits and the lovely hens- it felt like a real rural escape. We?d love to come back in the future.

We would totally recommend this beautiful cottage. The owners are very friendly and accommodating; the cottage is very well appointed; and the views are absolutely outstanding!

We came at the same time last year. Even if the weather isn't great, the cottage is so cosy and the autumn colours are still vibrant, that it's just as special staying indoors as it is going out. We stayed during the middle of November and amazingly there were still red roses adorning the cottage. There is plenty of room for two couples to stay without getting under each other's feet.

This cottage was excellent and in a fabulous setting. It is definitely in our top 5 self-catering cottages and we would not hesitate to recommend it. The owners were charming and we loved their animals - a veritable menagerie! The views were amazing and we liked the village too, everyone you passed was friendly. The pub was a "good food" pub, we had 2 excellent meals there. We were lucky to have sunny (though cold) weather in April.
