Kingfisher, Kingfisher, Airy Hill Farm, Whitby, North Yorkshire, YO21 1PZ

Arrived at 4 o'clock cleaner just leaving. Inside we found the rug full of dog hair no vacuum lifted it and found more dirt underneath rest of floors dirty. Toilet seat hanging off in downstairs bedroom ensuit and curtains stained. The bbq was unusable in all the cottage needed a deep clean. We told Sykes Cottages on our return and sent them photos they refunded the booking fee. We also contacted the owners (who after 2 weeks constantly ringing failed to return my calls) eventually I made contact but the gentleman I spoke to was not interested. In all very disappointed with Kingfisher Cottage Whitby.

Had a really enjoyable week staying in Kingfisher. We had booked the cottage because it had a downstairs bedroom but was disappointed to find two steps to climb to get into it which the person couldn't manage but could have done if a rail was provided. But where theres a will theres a way an there was an alternative route into the room.

The bedrooms would benefit from a chair in each and there still the thorny issue of a lack of coffee table. I wonder how many times people have brought the outside one in.

Apart from this a lovely place to stay.

This was our second visit to kingfisher Cottage....last year we stayed and it was lovely so we rebooked for this year.we stayed 1 week.......it did feel like the cottage was never cleaned from the last people that stayed......there was a stain on the floor next to the settee.food around the edges in the kitchen.....the bottom of the certains was filthy ......our bed had dog hairs in......the toilets smelled.....and to top it off there was dog poo outside as well......we booked through Skye cottages .we did ring up and have a chat with them...they was very ap

This property is beautifully converted for a rental. The kitchen is well presented with excellent appliances including washing machine and dishwasher. The living area is lovely and wifi very handy. The small courtyard is pretty and standing up the Abbey is visible. The bedrooms were all lovely although staying in the twin room I bumped my head on the sloping ceiling repeatedly.

The school is very close, I mean it is VERY close. It was fine for this property but one of the rentals has a view of just the school which isn't so appealing. The car parking is pre
