Cottage Review:

My goodness....what an absolute gem this house is. We've stayed in loads of rental houses, and this is absolutely the best rental one we've stayed in, ever. Worth every penny we paid for it; actually, having stayed in it, we'd have paid more.

For one, the house is perfectly-placed in a quiet cul-de-sac, with a local Spar supermarket just 50 meters from the house and 2 character pubs within 3 minutes walk, and the property is just minutes drive (or a short mountain bike ride) from the North York moors park, or a mile from the Saltburn-by-the-Sea (the new Whitby) if you prefer the beach, coast and the food and activities on offer there. A big ASDA, and fast foods are just a couple minutes away in the car.

Inside, the house is absolutely spotlessly clean. All of the bedrooms (2 doubles, 1 single) are super comfortable. The west-facing master bedroom's panoramic view over the North York moors is breathtaking (especially with the amazing sunsets which you seem to get almost every evening).

There is a big airy sun-room (also west-facing) where we spent a lot of time, with sink-into it furniture - just gorgeous and so peaceful. The bedrooms are all super comfortable, with luxury towels, linens and duvets. The lounge is spacious and is just relaxing to sit in - it has the feel of a real home, not a holiday let. The middle-eastern spiral lantern is a lovely piece and also adds to the ambience. Not that any of us can play, but there's even an electric piano! Honestly, the owners haven't spared a penny in ensuring a comfortable and quality stay.

It is also so well-equipped - there's an abundance of kitchenware and even a slow-cooker in the kitchen cupboard. One tip, is that the oven only works if the switch on the back of the worktop is on....took a few minutes to figure that one out..... There is an amazing downstairs walk-in shower which dumps streams of hot water over you.The finish just oozes quality.

Outside it has a driveway that holds 2 or 3 cars, as well as a double-locked garage for storing probably 10 mountain bikes, or other outside gear.

Amongst loads of things to do, a couple of our recommendations: the fish and chip shops around Saltburn pier are just what you'd expect in coastal Yorkshire, and if you like real ales and a bit of live music, try the eclectic Pillar Box pub on the main street in Saltburn on weekends.
