Description of the self catering property
Galanda holiday cottage in Newton Ferrers is three quarters of a mile from the shops and the pub in Newton Ferrers, in an idyllic location amongst trees on the banks of the river Yealm. Galanda in Newton Ferrers is a ground-floor apartment in a detached waterside house off the no through road which winds alongside this beautiful tidal inlet to National Trust woods beyond.
At the front of Galanda is an enclosed shared garden with your own peaceful river-facing terrace complete with tables and chairs, from which you can enjoy afternoon sun and ever-changing estuary views, and small, tree-shaded, lawned area. Across the lane from Galanda, steps down to shared slipway (care needed, some narrow/steep steps, unguarded river access) with mooring for small dinghy (boat hire locally).From lane, 11 steepish steps up to gently sloping, shared path across lawn.
Three further steps up to your own entrance to open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer) with TV/DVD. Galanda has three bedrooms including a double with en suite bathroom, a twin bedroom with river and garden views, and a bunk bedroom (3' beds) with limited clothes-hanging space.
There is also a shower-room with a shower, cupboard with the washing machine and tumble drier and through to separate loo. Ready meals and meals in the owners' house available. No pets during July or August. Galanda in Newton Ferrers is an attractive riverside holiday cottage in the South Hams.

Beautiful house with lovely decorative touches situated directly on the River. Great for swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. Woodland walks. Pubs and shops within walking distance. Perfect space for our family time, thankyou. |
