This beautiful thatched Farmhouse and Farmstead with Outdoor Heated Pool and two acres of grounds surrounded by orchards is a perfect example of the beautiful British countryside at its tranquil best. Located in Kent, one of our most sought after areas, you couldn’t feel further away from the stress and strains of the city but actually you are an hour from central London. Once through the gated entrance, the first sight of the red brick and creamy plaster walls set against the beautifully maintained cottage garden puts you in mind of simpler times when you could spend all day watching the clouds, baking the perfect cake or really savouring a good bottle of wine. The Farmstead comprises of the Manor Farmhouse, Stable Cottage and an excitingly renovated Country Barn arranged around a courtyard. The Barn houses a modern leisure complex comprising of a Billiard Room with snooker and pool balls, a Library and even a Sauna in one of the bedrooms. On the first floor is a Cinema Room seating 18 guests with a large flat screen surround sound TV, DVD, CD, Laser Disc, VCR and a Stereo. In summer you can enjoy the BBQ area and the walled garden Heated Swimming Pool. Come rain or shine it is the perfect family escape! The Manor Farmhouse offers open beamed and oak floored Drawing and Dining rooms. The Dining Room can seat 18 guests and has a wood burning stove for sumptuous winter entertaining. The Drawing Room has two further wood burning stoves and lots of big sofas so plenty of space and comfort. The Stable Cottage has a fresh contemporary open plan space with vaulted ceiling and breakfast area for 6 guests. The Farmhouse has a country kitchen with oil-fired cast iron range backed up by an electric oven, hob and microwave. Both the Stable Cottage and Barn have further kitchen areas with electric hobs, ovens and microwaves so perfect for corporate groups that want to do their own thing or big family cooking that requires lots of ovens and storage space – what a perfect place for Christmas dinner! Overall there are 10 bedrooms and 8 bath/shower rooms for 18 guests. The Manor Farmhouse offers three doubles and one single decorated in a fresh country style. The Stable Cottage has one large zip and link bedroom with vaulted ceiling and French doors plus two further double bedrooms and a family bathroom - all the bedrooms also have French doors offering access straight out onto the wrap around decking and into the gardens. The barn also has a very big zip and link bedroom with a sauna and 2 sets of french doors, one leading to the decked area and down to the water feature, the other to the pool. There is a further double and single that share a family bathroom with Jacuzzi bath. There are also two shower/changing rooms for the pool. Situated in the midst of a charming village (with the paddock bounding the cricket green!) and a country walk to the nearest pub, this area of the North Downs in Kent is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and known as the Garden of England, so pack your walking boots. The Farmstead is only three miles from the town of Sittingbourne for shopping but do look out for various famers markets and food stalls as the local area is famous for its fresh produce. Faversham is close by and you could also visit the popular coastal town of Whitstable or the cathedral city of Canterbury. If you just can’t resist the bright lights, Blue Water Shopping Centre is just under 45 minutes away and of course you are close enough to London for a night of theatre and fine dining. A real family property where you can rest, relax and renew that is also perfect for small corporate groups that need a bolt hole out of London and overseas visitors waiting to experience the best of Britain.
