Cottage Review:
Initial impressions are great. Ideal location, almost brand new refurb. However, like many modern developments the greedy constructors have tried to squeeze too much into the space. We booked the George Stevenson apartment for 3 nights. 2 couples in a two bedroom flat. Both bedrooms were tiny, one had the bed butted up to the wall, so the person nearest the window had to climb over in the night. The other bedroom was not much bigger. The common space was tiny, with the most uncomfortable upright two seaters as there was not enough space for anything bigger. We spent the whole time around the breakfast bar which was the only table in the place. The wooden flooring has not been installed properly and so it creaks like a Tudor country house, and the same for the floor upstairs. We could hear everytime the people upstairs moved. It was like a herd of elephants. They also had the same issues as they came downstairs to complain about our noise and music. It wasn't even on loudly, we were simply sat down playing cards ! And finally there was no welcome pack (as billed) and also only 1 towel per couple In conclusion - massive let down, and we expected more considering we paid top dollar for this. The owners are too greedy for their own good. Avoid |
