My husband booked this house for our last week of our holiday and it was absolutely perfect! When we first set foot in the house, all we could say was, "wow!" over and over again. It's a lovely home with traditional features throughout. The entire place is clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is large and has everything one needs to prepare a meal. I particularly enjoyed the conservatory, which is a lovely place to read and enjoy the sound of the rushing water of the burn across the road and birdsong (although when the sun is out in force, it does get quite warm in there). The king-sized bed upstairs was very comfortable (and again, hearing the rushing water outside quickly lulled us to sleep). The shower has great water pressure, which is not always the case with older cottages. Having a clothes washer and dryer available was fantastic and very easy to use. (Speaking of ease of use - there is a book on the desk in the sitting room that has an instruction manual for every appliance in the house, in case you have trouble. Brilliant addition!)

Although we didn't make use of the Byre, we did do a walk-through to check it out. I wished we had been traveling with friends or family, because it would be a fabulous place for them to stay - separately with plenty of privacy, yet just a short walk from the Byre door to the front or kitchen door in the back in order to spend time together.

Drumnadrochit is a short drive away (4 minutes or so) or a 20 minute walk. There are some restaurants there and then further down, there's a Scotmid Coop where you can purchase some groceries if you don't want to drive into Inverness to go to Tesco.

(I will say that the road leading to the house is VERY narrow, so wider vehicles won't be able to get through, but an average sized car is fine.)

We highly recommend Dunollie House & Byre to anyone who is looking for a nice, cosy holiday cottage. We hope to be able to return again in the future ourselves!
