Description of the self catering
Doune Apartment is a detached cottage right on the shores of Loch caroy. It's large, well furnished and conveniently placed on the west of Skye not far from Dunvegan or portree the largest town on the island. The cottage is perfect for large groups or the whole family as it can easily accommodate up to 9 guests.Best Features
The accommodation at the house is of a very high standard, and everything to make the perfect holiday has been thought of. The kitchen/dining area is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, washing machine/tumble drier, dishwasher, built in gas cooker and microwave oven. Patio doors from the dining area offer the perfect place to watch the world go by over breakfast, lunch, dinner and every cup of coffee in between! An outside seating area can be accessed from here along with the BBQ for those sunny evenings. Of course, if you don’t fancy cooking or eating in, there is an abundance of fantastic restaurants and bistros on the island to try. The house is a short drive from the well known Three Chimneys Restaurant for that special occasion!
The large, comfortable lounge area is has a large picture window where the otter has often been spotted from. Sunsets from this window are breathtaking and confirm that it is definitelya ‘picture’ window. Views change minute by minute with the captivating Skye weather, mixed with the loch and the McLeod’sTables in the distance. There is plenty to keep you occupied on wet days with ample books, DVDs and games. This living area provides ample space for all 9 guests in an evening after a busy day of site seeing.
On the ground floor there are3 bedrooms, each with TV and en-suite. King size, twin and single bedrooms, creating a good mix for the whole family. A bathroom is also provided on the ground floor. All rooms are large and bright and airy.
Should the party be larger than 5 guests the upper floor can also be used. This area provides a further lounge, kitchen with eating area (although there is enough room for everyone to dine together in the main kitchen/dining room) and two further twin bedrooms, each with en-suite! There will never be a queue in this house! The additional space upstairs makes this the ideal house for larger parties or two families travelling together providing some time out areas.
