Description of the holiday cottage
Carthorse Cottage is 1/2 a mile from Luton, on a 105 acre livestock farm, a house converted from a barn attached to the 18th cent. farmhouse with an integral indoor heated swimming pool (available 9am to 9pm, 2 steps into pool room). The friendly owners are enthusiastic and proud that wildlife abounds on their land, which is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. You are welcome to walk their land and share their interest. There are Neolithic burial sites, a stream, ponds (both unfenced) and a woodland picnic and play area (climbing frame). If you're a twitcher , bring a camera; you might see a cirl bunting, nightjar or very rare Dartford warbler. Inside Carthorse Cottage near Luton in Devon, simple and stylish with oak floors, good fabrics and emphasis on comfort. Approached through your own enclosed garden (picnic benches, gas barbecue). Step up to front door; hall; large living room with woodburner and TV/DVD; fitted kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave, fridge-freezer); double bedroom; shower-room (wet-room suite). Upstairs (stairgate), four more bedrooms, two double with en suite bathrooms (suites plus hand-showers), and two twin; two more shower-rooms (suites). All bedrooms have TV/DVD. Step down into old stables converted into a games room (pool table, PlayStation, VDU/DVD). Professional catering available. Spring water. There is something for everyone with this cottage - exciting sports or peace and tranquillity.Sleeps: 10
