| Cottage Review:
Lovely character cottage perfectly positioned to explore Whitby and the surrounding area. The cottage was clean and well equipped and the patio was secure for our two dogs. Although there was no dedicated space, street parking was available nearby. We had a great holiday and would definitely stay at Captains Cottage again. |

| Cottage Review:
I'm not sure where to start with this review,I have never seen anywhere like this property. It was not as per the photos,the parking involves parking where you can on a main road and walk to the property through a alleyway with broken glass and dog mess.The 'courtyard has a broken gate that doesn't lock and covered in weeds and cigarette butt's. This properties level of cleanliness indicates it hasn't had a proper clean in months.The floors/windows/sofas and chairs and bin were disgusting. Inside the kitchen cupboards was disgusting. The 'clean' towels had hairs on them. The boiler wasn't working and after phoning to report it we were told to turn it off,no light fittings at the top of landing. If this is how the basic cleaning is done I can't see door handles etc being done.After phoning and speaking to the owner and sending photos we were told the cleaners hadn't been yet and we had to wait for someone to come out hopefully the next day to look at the boiler.This conditions in this property wasn't a weeks worth of dirt as other reviews show.We were told to stay there or could lose our money but nothing was going to make us sleep in that property Not heard from the owner since the photos were sent and still waiting to hear from Skye cottages regarding our refund Please consider before booking this cottage,below is a small selection of the forty photos we took I would hate someone else to experience our first day after being excited for a much needed holiday |
