Cottage Review: Having rented cottages through other agencies, I cannot recommend Helpful Holidays highly enough. The standard of your properties is excellent, your brochure descriptions are accurate and your staff go out of their way to be helpful. Have you thought about extending your reach outside the south west?

Cottage Review: We’ve had a wonderful fortnight in this lovely cottage. All the ‘child friendly’ touches were very much appreciated. Spent a lot of time at the beach – Bigbury mainly as the toilets are more accessible for a ‘just-potty-trained’ toddler! Also enjoyed the Aquarium at Plymouth, Living Coast at Torquay, River Dart Country Park which was fantastic and Pennywell Farm – another brilliant day out for toddlers. Beautiful part of the world – we will be back again we hope – the cottage is great, the master bedroom in particular had more of a touch of luxury than we expected! Thanks.

Cottage Review: This property is one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Although there is no off street parking, don't let that put you off, just a short walk away is a car park that you can leave your car in, without any worries. There is a small childrens park just at the back of the cottage that is great in summer or winter. Next year will be our third visit, so its got to be good!! :-)

Cottage Review: Wonderful return visit – just as good second time around. Had a really relaxing break in a very comfortable cottage.

Cottage Review: Arrived at Briar Cottage on the Friday on a beautifully sunny day and were instantly taken with this fantastic cottage, every small detail had been thought of down to the security light in the kids bedroom and the amazingly well equipped kitchen and the great stash of games under the window seat, a very hotly contested game of ‘chairs’ was a great way to pass an evening. We also loved the great garden and how you could pop across the stream to the field and park behind. We have been blessed with (mostly) glorious sunny weather and made great use of the BBQ to sit outside one evening, so nice to be able to eat ‘al Fresco’ with good food, good company and a nice bottle of wine. My 3 year old nephew has also been right at home here, loving the playroom and bunk bed. We found Aveton Gifford to be a great place for exploring the area. We all loved Salcombe for it’s bustling fishing village style, Dartmouth for the boat trips and great crabbing, Burgh Island / Bigbury on Sea for the fantastic beach and taking the sea tractor across at sunset to the Pilchard Inn for a drink was a unique experience. Other recommendations from us would be a pint at the Swan Inn or Ship Inn at Noss Mayo, a lovely estuary village, Brixham was also a hit with the McRonald clan. We really enjoyed a very yummy meal at the fab Tower Inn at Slapton, but make sure you drive carefully into the car park it is very narrow! Torcross also very lovely for a drink on the way back from Dartmouth, the A379 is a slow but very pretty drive back. Plymouth also well worth a visit. But our pick for restaurants has to be the Oyster Shack (be sure to book) a mile down the tidal road. We had an amazing meal with some of the best service any of us have ever had in a restaurant, and between us all we are well travelled! Our wai tress knew everything about all the dishes and was a brilliant hostess, a great way to end a fantastic week. All in all the cottage has been a real home from home with lovely touches in every room, our only real regret has been that a week just hasn’t been long enough to explore all the things that South Devon has to offer, I will certainly be returning to get some walking in on Dartmoor. We hope you enjoy your time here every bit as much as we have!

Cottage Review: We fell in love with this wonderful cottage all over again. Enjoyed the beaches, tidal road walk, park and play area. The view out of the window is fantastic – could look at it all day! Thanks again for sharing it all with us!
