Description of the holiday cottage

Alvey House is a stunning, large villa in the popular village of Newtonmore, central location for those that want to visit and explore the Cairngorms Mountains and the National Park. Alvey House is one of the more prominent properties in the area, ideal for groups or families that want to share a large holiday cottage in Newtonmore. Alvey House is a stone built Victorian styled villa and this theme and history flow throughout the cottage with a range of original features that are unique to the hunting style lodges that were built in the Cairngorms during the Victorian period. There is a gorgeous lounge at Alvey House in Newtonmore, beautiful seats around the huge bay windows in this tall and elegant room allow you to relax and soak in the stunning views over the countryside. Elegant sofas and chairs around the open fire are very relaxing and fit in well with the style of the property. Care and attention has been made to ensure that whilst modern fittings are made available for you to enjoy a holiday to remember, the character of this traditional Victorian villa is maintained. There is a good sized dining room with a large table and chairs and a kitchen with two large ovens are available few to use or you can bring in private caterers if you should wish. There are a total of nine bedrooms at Alvey House as well as nine bathrooms and this is also a pet friendly holiday home, ideal for groups that want to walk and enjoyed the outdoor area and bring their pets on holiday with them. There is plenty of space both indoors and outdoors including a large garden that extends to 1 acre and there is also a child friendly garden along with seating areas so you can sit back and relax. A quality large holiday cottage that is always in demand.

Cottage Review:  

This is a very large house suitable for a large group of friends or family. We totalled 17 people, age ranges from 4 years to 69 years. the house is very well equipped

clean and very comfortable,most rooms en suite. Amenities and activities within a 15 mile radius to suit all our age range. Activities we completed included horse riding at Alvie, zip wire at Alvie, grass sledging at Aviemore, visit to Landmark, visit to Wildlife park. Cinema and Italian restaurant in Aviemore. McPherson museum in Newtonmore (excellent), also the open air museum on the edge of
