We submitted our cottage to the MyCottageHoliday review team two years ago and hoped for the best! It was a shot in the dark as I was worried that guests may use the site to air any little complaint or grievance that they were not happy with. I was completely wrong, using MyCottageHoliday proved to be one of the best decisions we ever made. Not only have we had lovely feedback and reviews from our visitors but lots of great help and advice from Andy on how to present our cottage to maximum advantage and how to communicate more efficiently with potential customers. We have now build up a steady business with many return guests and I know that MyCottageHoliday played a big part in helping us to achieve that. Hi - I am delighted to be able to write a comment. We have had our properties featured on the MyCottageHoliday site for a couple of years and it has definitely helped us secure bookings. We have a link to the site from our own website and guests DO read the reviews before they book. With the advent of the popular "Trip Advisor" and everyone watching the pennies people want to be as sure as possible that they are getting not only good accommodation but also value for money! Because MyCottageHoliday is an independent site and the reviews are posted by guests themselves, I think people are reassured by what they read and it instils confidence in their choice of accommodation.

The big advantage of MyCottageHoliday for guests is that it is so simple to use and the navigation is so easy. The Editor of the site is also very approachable and open to ideas. Altogether first class site - just compare it to the market leader and you'll see what I mean. This site is careful, thoughtful while the leader is a jumbled mess of a site. We wouldn't touch them.

We were encouraged to join MyCottageHoliday by Premier Cottages, an organisation of independent self catering holiday cottage owners, whose members have 4 and 5 star properties. As owners of two 5 star Gold cottages sleeping a total of 15 people, we hope that as MyCottageHoliday gets more widely known and used, it will overtake Trip Advisor, and become THE website for people to search for self catering holidays. In our view a dedicated website has to be better than one which covers all forms of travel and holidays."

Why would we recommend MyCottageHoliday to other owners? It's a site concentrating on cottages, something comparable sites do not (or call it 'holiday rentals'; picture me pulling a puking face); fully free; direct contact possible with team behind MyCottageHoliday, allowing quick dealing with disputed or unfair reviews; you can never have enough reviews. I'm happy to vouch for the site. Glad it continues to evolve.

We were very excited the other day to receive an email with our very first review. It was for South Hall Cottage and we got 5 stars so excellent. We know it will take time to build up reviews but as time goes by it will give potential guests the confidence to make a booking. It will also bring to light any short falls, if of course there are any!

I think MyCottageHoliday.co.uk is a useful site. I include some of the reviews in my adverts. I also send a follow up thank you for a guests visit with a link & ask if they want to make a review.
