| Cottage Review:
This spacious, well equipped cottage is in the perfect location for some excellent walks. Having stayed in many different cottages, I can honestly say that the king sized bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. A couple of minor issues were experienced but once we had reported them, the owner very quickly and graciously sorted them out. There are a number of very good pubs within a few miles if you don't fancy cooking and the lack of a TV is a positive especially since the cottage provides books and board games a plenty. | Cottage Review:
Beautiful Grade II listed farmhouse in the remote fells of Cumbria. The house is very clean and comfortable. Stunning scenery and remote. The owners and the housekeeper are all very friendly and welcoming, with lots of local tips. Great food at the King's Head in Ravenstonedale. If you are into peace and quiet and walking there are lots of things to do, with a walk up Cauldron Snout just down the road a must (main high fell visible from cottage). Very nicely furnished and well equipped, beautiful location. Unfortunately there were mice also in residence. They were so evident, especially on the ground floor. Droppings were everywhere, also saw mice scurrying around the house. Went here for a relaxing holiday and came away very stressed. |
