Fantastic weekend stay. Apartment was brilliant, clean, well equipment and spacious. The hot tub was amazing. We couldn't find a hair dryer and Howard and his family was really helpful and managed to find out for us. Great location near to the shops, bars and restaurants. Had a lovely walk, park is just up the road. Will definitely be back, we loved it. Thank you x

A family of 6, 2 adults, 2 children, 2 teens

We wanted to be in a location where the teens could go off and do their teen things and yet somewhere we could get out and walk, have a relaxing time and not hear noisy children. Well the rooftop ticked all those boxes and more. The apartment boasts a very well equipped kitchen, the only thing missing was a Yorkshire pudding tin , even the knives are a a reasonable quality (yes cooking is important to us!!). There were even enough glasses to accommodate the fact that my children think glasses are single use!! The bedrooms are all good sizes with comfortable mattresses, and two with en suites gave the teenagers privacy. The second floor bedroom has it's own private lounge, should you choose to use it that way, and access to the hot tub. No skimping here, always heated and a delight to sit in of an evening.

Overall the apartment is decorated to a high standard and was clean. The only thing that slightly concerned us was the 9am checkout time, with two teens, however the owner was incredibly accommodating and agreed we could leave at 10. This made all the difference to us, well, the teens, so thank you so much Howard.

We will absolutely return, we love the area, have family near by and will be up for house hunting soon! Thank you for a delightful holiday.

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and have just returned from a fantastic week at The Rooftop.

The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The decor and furnishings are to a high standard. The kitchen is fully equipped, making it easy to cook meals if you want to. Everything was spotlessly clean (and I am fussy!).

The icing on the cake is the roof garden and hot tub. After a busy day exploring Derbyshire it was lovely to relax in the hot tub.

The apartment is centrally located in Buxton and is within walking distance of all shops, cafes and amenities. My son used the Swimming and Fitness Centre during our stay, it was 5 mins walk through the park.

Highlights of the places we visited/activities were the Heights of Abraham at Matlock Bath. The Aqua Park at Rother Valley and cycling at the Monsal Trail.

The owners have though of every last detail to make The Rooftop a great place to say and we would highly recommend it.

Hen party of 7!

The accommodation was beautiful, sparkling clean, modern and comfortable. Very spacious with two floors so although there was 8 of us it never felt like we were under each others feet. It has everything you need!

Walking distance to the centre of town, close to the park, shops, pubs and cafes.

The owners are fab and couldn't be more accommodating.

We all enjoyed our stay so much and would definitely stay there again.

What a beautiful place. Spacious and luxurious. They have thought of everything. We went as a party of seven and had loads of space. The roof is amazing and the hot tub is a bonus. Excellent location. Would definitely go again.

The Rooftop is a jewel. Location is bang-on. It is situated in the centre of town, across the road from the impressive Pavilion Gardens. There are at least five restaurants within a three-minute stroll - chain Italian, independent Italian, Thai, Indian and bistro. A similar number of bars and cafes, as well.

Not that you'll necessarily need those food and drink outlets - as the apartment is perfectly set up for those wishing to cook their own meals or enjoy drinks on its own roof terrace. No need to bring food and drink with you - Waitrose is just round the corner, five-minute walk or two-minute drive (large car park). And Aldi is on the opposite side of the road, which also has a car park.

Quick summary, the apartment is split over two levels on the top two floors of a Grade 2-listed (I'm guessing, Georgian) property. It's been refurbished to a high standard, with everything you need for a week's stay. Four double bedrooms - three with double beds, one with twin singles. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms/shower rooms. There is a third shower room that serves the other two bedrooms. Large open plan kitchen-diner with living area on the lower floor. And another living area on the top floor, with huge comfy sofas and a large TV. And the piece-de-resistance ... for the kids, was a hot-tub on the roof terrace. Such a brilliant way to unwind for tired little legs after enjoying some of the sites of the Peak District.

Back to location - Buxton is a great place to base yourself for a Peak District break. So many places of interest to visit less than a 30-minute drive away.

The apartment comes with a parking space - in the narrow road to the side of the building. Not the easiest place to park, but it's good to know you have a guaranteed space. There is plenty of unrestricted street parking a five-minute walk away.

I highly recommend this place - but if I was to try to pick one fault with it, I'd say it's not ideal for people with mobility difficulties, as there are around three flights of stairs to negotiate to access the apartment.

Fantastic modern accomodation set over two floors in a lovely old building. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two lounges and a lovely roof terrace with a hot tub & views over the town. Ideal central location which is great for shops (all within walking distance), some very good bars & eateries and is directly opposite the beautiful Pavillion Gardens. Great hosts who were really eager to please - I would most definitely recommend renting this property.
