Cottage Review:

Fabulous holiday cottage in a great location. Borth y Gest is a very tranquil place to unwind and relax in. The cottage has 4 good sized bedrooms and two good bathrooms. The downstairs one is great for washing the kids off after being on the beach all day! The street outside is quiet and the properties split between residents and holiday tenants. The road is quiet and does not affect sleep in the rooms facing the road. Parking was never an issue for us, although you get the slot you can fit in, but there are lots of places to park if you can't find a space outside the house. Access to the beach is perfect just along a track at the end of the street.

There is a wonderful, fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher. Plenty of crockery and cutlery. All the plastic stuff is provided for the kids too. A good sized fridge with a normal two drawer freezer which is handy. The open plan area is great for cooking, eating and still being all together. There are fabulous views from the rear of the property that looks out from a raised viewpoint over the harbour and surrounding countryside. You can watch the birds diving around the skies or watch the steam train going over the sea wall in the distance. The views can be seen from the kitchen, dining area and the lounge. The seating is great and you hardly need to watch the TV as the view is much better out of the window!!

The TV is a little high on the wall but was ok as we didn't watch it much. The light in the middle of the lounge ceiling is a problem for anyone of average or above height!! My husband and I hit our heads repeatedly on it!!

The wooden floor on the ground floor is wonderful and makes it easy to keep clean. Although pets are allowed here there was no sign of pets having been there or any funny smells!!

The outside decking area is fabulous. With the glass panels the kids can safely keep look out for pirates and you can sit and avoid any breezes there may be! The upper deck is great for morning coffee and evening wine.

There is a great DAB radio and ipod docker so all the music is there to be enjoyed as well.

For the kids there are many good board games and some toys for the younger ones but mainly aimed at boys toys. There is a black out blind in the bunk room which is great to keep the kids in bed that bit longer on the sunny mornings.

The bedrooms are spacious at the front. The middle room upstairs that we used was a little small and one person has to be near the wall but that was not a problem. Again there is a lovely view from this room and the bunk room.

The upstairs bathroom is a little smaller than downstairs but makes good use of the space and is light and clean.

The top of the stairs may be one to watch for with those with difficulty climbing stairs or the very young as it has a quirky step that is at an angle, but again not a major problem.

All the bedrooms have decent storage, enough for a weeks break certainly.

All in all a great holiday cottage, stylishly renovated downstairs and keeping character all round. Would visit again for sure!!

Make up of party:  This property would be ideal for families sharing as there are two bathrooms and one can be used as an en suite. With the downstairs bedroom and bathroom those who may not be able to manage the stairs are cateredfor.
