The Oval in Dunster is a popular holiday cottage in this historic location on the North Cornwall coast near Minehead. The Oval is steeped in history being one of the oldest buildings in this beautiful village on the edge of the Exmoor National Park. This is a fantastic traditional holiday cottage if you are looking for charm, a wonderful building that exudes character and history, more of an experience that just a holiday cottage! At the back of The Oval, there is a small courtyard (table/chairs) and, up steep steps (gate, handrail), decked patio (table/benches) with fruit trees and lovely views over the village to wooded hills.Downstairs, tiled/stone floors (rugs), ancient timbers, leaded windows, low lintels, beams.

Behind a heavy timber door, oak-screened hall, off which comfortable living room (TV/DVD) with fireplace (woodburner). Snug with easy chairs - a quiet reading room. There are tow steps up to breakfast and dining area at The Oval in Dunster with French windows to courtyard and smartly fitted oak kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, range-style cooker). Behind a low medieval doorway, a utility room (tumble drier, sink) and cloakroom (loo), perfect for wet coats/boots and dogs.

Stairs (stairgates) up to three bedrooms including a beautiful double (5 foot four-poster, TV) with door to shower-room (suite, also accessible from landing), a twin, and another double (footboard) with en suite bathroom (suite, shower over bath); both double rooms have vaulted ceilings, cruck beams, good fabrics, window seats. Permit provided for reserved parking space in National Trust car park; second parking space, 450 yards. Poor TV reception in adverse weather; internet-connected TV provided. A very lovely, civilised house in a beautiful village.
