Cottage Review:

My Welsh wife, Delyth chose and booked The Old Thatch from 12th December for 3 nights to go with our 2 pet dogs. It was a 4 hour drive from Llandysul in Carmarthenshire but, fully worth the effort as it exceeded our wildest expectations from the moment we stepped in! Exquisitely refurbished, the owners Mr Alan & Mrs Carolyn McKay have spared no expense to give it a five star wow for the most discerning guests! We felt greatly honoured ourselves discovering to be the first guests since opening their holiday let ! Elegant furniture, spanking new quality kitchen appliances, free WiFi, toilet downstairs, it was very cosy everywhere! Upstairs no less with a double bed, bathroom with a state of the art shower, toilet, wash basin and even a fitted socket for the electric toothbrush! Another door leads you to a veranda/balcony for fresh air and relax seeing the clear fast moving stream beneath! Though we took our own blankets for the two dogs, it was provided too. Local people were friendly and cultured as were the motorists, never tooted at me as a hesitant driver at junctions trying to find my way on very narrow roads! A recreational park right opposite The Old Thatch with paved walkways came in handy for the dogs. Golden House Chinese Restaurant and Takeaway in Minehead, just 5 miles is not to be missed ! We take pleasure recommending The Old Thatch for a well deserved holiday!
