Cottage Review:
Stayed in the Hayloft for 2 nights at the start of November, when booking our stay liaised with the hosts Joanne and Neil prior- seemed friendly and informative, and reviews seemed excellent so booked our stay. Obligatory email message sent with information on things to do in the area, but didn?t see the hosts for the entire stay- there was no welcome or any face to face engagement whatsoever. Not a problem for most, but for us would?ve been nice and offers a more personal touch. The property itself is immaculate- but comes at a cost, there is welcome book listing rules and little signs of ?dos and donts? all over the apartment, which myself and my partner deemed a bit over the top- it almost leaves you unable to relax and scared to touch anything! We had to go out and get tea bags as there were only two offered, inadequate for two people on a two night stay. For the money paid, basics like teabags wouldn?t go amiss. Overall, the stay was average- lovely location with plenty of walks, the apartment itself immaculate but to the point bordering extreme with the little notices dotted around. Let down by absent hosts and tight with the basic offerings. I booked through Airbnb and didn?t leave a review as didn?t want to tarnish their 5 star rating, however it seems I shouldn?t have been so considerate- as have since been accused of breaking the shower - there was no damage when we left and no contact from the hosts regarding this until they left a review. If you book be sure to take your own teabags, and be sure to follow all the rules on the signs dotted around! |

Cottage Review:
Absolutely fantastic accommodation. From the moment we walked through the door, took off our shoes, and walked upstairs we felt as though we were the first people to ever stay in The Hayloft. There was a very generous welcome tray to greet us and a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge. Everything is spotlessly clean, the crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils are all quality and enough of them to not have to use the dishwasher or even wash up after every meal. The bed is extremely comfortable and the bedlinen first class. There is far more hanging and storage space than we have ever found in a one bedroom property and we loved that. The weather was not particularly kind to us but it was a pleasure to be able to come back early each day and spend time relaxing and just enjoying The Hayloft. From the lounge window we were able to watch the horses and also saw a fox, a hare, some squirrels and a hind with her two fawns which was delightful. Thank you Jo and Neil for all the care and thought you have put in to making this a very special place, we really appreciated everything. Barbara and David |
