Myself, husband and toddler had a wonderful stay at the gate house. It had everything we needed and more as a family for a lovely break. There was a high chair and travel cot. The house was immaculate, the bedding smelt incredible when we got into it! Such a cute property with gorgeous features. We went on lovely walks straight from the property, ate in some nice pubs and relaxed in the garden! Beautiful location, we can?t wait to come back!

This was a very special holiday because having been a teacher for 40 years I have never had a holiday in September and wanted it to be perfect. The cottage is lovely and had everything we needed for a great stay. The porch was ideal for all of the dog food, coat, leads, walking shoes etc. The owners were lovely and had left a very thoughtful welcome gift. They also pointed us towards Leek for the monthly market, which was excellent. The information folder was extremely helpful. Guinness ( our greyhound) thought he was in heaven- lovely walks literally on the doorstep and a garden. I would thoroughly recommend the cottage - it's great for dog owners and within easy reach of Alton Towers and the Peak Widlife Centre.

We came here for summer holiday with 2 dogs and a child, and had a lovely stay. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, perfect for walking and cycling (especially the old railway line), and there is plenty to do in the local area too.

The cottage is well equipped, and the owners are friendly and welcoming and live very nearby in case of any problems. There is a little porch/utility area for bikes, the garden is mostly dog safe (though there is a low wall on one side which a determined dog could scale) and there is a lovely breeze through the old railwa

I have just come back from a week in this property and cannot speak highly enough of it. It has been lovingly restored and the fixtures and fittings are very good quality. If I could have got the cooker in the car i might have been tempted to steal it. There is ample parking off road so no problem there. Walks from the front door are plentiful and of varying lengths. The owners of the property have put an information folder in the house and it covers everything you need to know. A separate part has instructions for all the appliances which is extremel

This property must be pretty much unique. A detached former Railway Crossing Keeper?s home, set in its own fully enclosed and lawned garden. Enclosed off road parking for four cars. Decorated to a high standard, but in keeping with the period of this beautiful property. King size double bedroom and twin bedroom sleeps four. Stairs are a little steep, as with all properties of this style and age, but are ok unless you have walking difficulties. Fully fitted kitchen with microwave, range, large fridge-freezer, dishwasher and a breakfast area. Dining room, and
