Description of the self catering
Situated on a working farm in the village of Milton close to the Northumbrian and Cumbrian border, nestling in the foothills of the North Pennines, The Byre is one of two semi-detached stone built cottages skilfully converted from farm buildings and an old dairy. During the restoration many original features like beamed ceilings and exposed stonework have been carefully retained.Best Features
Accommodation all on one level. Open plan living room with wood burning stove, fully fitted kitchen area, dining table and glazed door out to private decked area with patio furniture. Exceptionally spacious double bedroom with king-size bed. Small twin bedded room. Bathroom with bath with shower spray, separate shower cubicle and WC. Most rooms have original exposed beamed ceilings. Traditional stone cottage converted from origianl farm buildings in 2010
Easy access to Hadrian's Wall, Carlisle and the north lakes
Close to Talkin Tarn and Geltsdale Nature Reserve

the owners were great.a bottle of wine and milk already chilling in the fridge.The Byre was lovely-a real cottage feel.Clean and well equiped.sat around the log fire was a great way to end a day.thoroughly recommend. |
