I came up from Shropshire to meet my grandparents halfway, and this was a perfect little cottage for us all to stay at, beautiful surrounding areas, stunning walks and just overall really homely!

Definitely will be coming back ??

Located in the lovely little village of Banks, approx 10 minutes drive to the market town of Brampton. Solport View is on a quiet lane with minimal passing traffic. The location is super quiet and picture postcard lovely. Dog friendly and superbly presented with everything you need for a short stay. Everything has been thought out by the owners and you want for nothing. There are lots of lovely places to visit locally and definitely go by the recommendations listed in the comprehensive guide book supplied in the cottage. Local food and beers are superb. we tried them all!!. We will visit again.

This is a fabulous cottage in a great location, lots of places to visit, some lovely walks and right on the Hadrian's Wall trail. Cottage was very clean with lovely furnishings. Great Welcome pack. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

This cottage is absolutely beautiful and exceptionally clean. The attention to detail to ensure that our stay was as enjoyable as possible was fantastic. Milk, coffee pods and snacks being provided were just some of the thoughtful touches that made us love this stay that little bit more. We were lucky enough to have some lovely weather and so we enjoyed the local areas by foot, plenty to see and do especially if you enjoy walking or cycling. The surrounding area is really quiet and peaceful, and Solport View really is the perfect setting for an evening in front of the log fire whilst taking in the breath taking views. I cannot recommend staying here enough. We will definitely be returning.

What a lovely week. The cottage felt like home right from the start. It's well planned out, beautifully decorated, well resourced. Little touches like the breakfast and snack tray and milk in the fridge. Bonus being right on the Hadrian's Wall footpath. Stunning view from the living room. The garden would have been great if the rain had stopped but great rainbows. Easy access to Carlisle, Penrith, Scotland. First class curry from Star Anise in Brampton. Really hope we can vudut again.

Solport View was our first stay away for nearly two years and it was so enjoyable. The location is great as there are all the things you need a short drive away and superb walking straight out of the front door. We enjoyed ticking off another section of Hadrian?s wall and also a lovely circular walk around Lanercost Priory & bridge. Carlisle and Kielder were a reasonable drive for a day out and far enough to avoid a day of heavy rain!

The cottage itself is spotlessly clean, very well equipped, beautifully decorated with every detail well thought out (and documented) - a real home from home! Having the hosts nearby and easily contactable is a real bonus and we were made to feel very welcome. A highly recommended cottage stay!

Cottage Review:

Just back from a week staying at Solport View, comfortable, clean and well equipped with lovley views of the countryside; watch the sunset from the bench at the front of the house.

Pretty garden to sit in, good size for playing ball, our spaniel loved it.

Very friendly hosts and neighbours.

Cottage in great place to visit Hadrian Wall sites and near enough to visit Lakes and Solway Coast easily.

One of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in and spotlessly clean and fresh.

Extra touches such as a welcome pack, milk in the fridge and a comprehensive information book. The bed was so comfy and the smart TV, Hive heating system and log burner make it perfect. The location in superb walks on your doorstep and close enough to visit Scotland and the Lake District with ease.

We really loved our 3 night stay at Solport View! The cottage has been done to the highest standard and has everything you could want. Hadrian?s wall is just metres away, meaning we could explore right from the door. There are also some fantastic walks just a short drive away, such as Talkin Fell which we very much enjoyed (the views are worth the climb), then when back at the cottage you can cosey up infront of the wood burner and enjoy some treats from the complimentary hamper. We highly recommend the Hidden River Cafe if you are looking for somewhere for food, it is about a 20 minute drive away but well worth it. As we stayed before most places were open properly, we were limited on choice for evening meals but would definitely return to the river cafe.

The view from the cottage is stunning, especially first thing in the morning. We would definitely love to return in better weather when we could enjoy the garden too. The bed is SO comfy and it is so peaceful, we slept like logs which is very rare when we are away. Cannot recommend this gorgeous cottage enough, we can?t wait to return!
