Description of the cottage holiday

The Old School House is a spacious property located in the small Devon village of Brushford, that dates back to the 1830s and was used as the village school until 1895. Renovated and redecorated to an extremely high standard, but retaining some charming original features, this spacious cottage is set beside the 13th century village church and offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Situated on the edge of Exmoor National Park, guests looking to get out and about will delight in the fantastic local walking and nature-viewing opportunities available. For those simply aiming to unwind in a terrifically comfortable and well-equipped rural cottage, meanwhile, the light and airy feel the Old School House will ensure maximum relaxation!

• 3 first floor bedrooms (two king-sized doubles and one twin)

• Ground floor sitting room with wood-burner, HD TV, DVD player, and iPod docking station/speakers  

• Ground floor kitchen-breakfast room, well equipped with all-new appliances including Aga-style electric range cooker, combination microwave cooker, dishwasher, and fridge, plus range of stainless steel pans, casserole dishes and bakeware

• Ground floor dining room with fireplace featuring original small bread oven

• First floor family bathroom with shower over bath, toilet, and hand basin, plus ground floor shower room with toilet

• Further ground floor rooms including study, and utility/boot room containing washer-dryer, freezer, hoover, boot rack, umbrellas, and dog bowls

• Egyptian cotton bed linen, feather duvets and pillows, and thick white towels provided. (Please note outdoor/beach towels not provided; please bring own)

• Wifi, electricity, and oil-fired central heating included in price, plus basket of logs, matches, and kindling

• Up to two dogs welcome (on ground floor only) by prior arrangement (supplement of £15 per dog)

• Check-in from 4pm, check-out by 10am
