Second time in a Seafield Farm Cottage and definitely not the last. Great facilities and Kirkland is a real home from home. Everything we needed. "Unfortunately" we did not need to use the log burner, the weather was fantastic all week with blue sky and wall to wall sunshine but even on cold mornings the cottage was cosy without the fire. Jane and James are great hosts with good local knowledge, very welcoming and helpful. For wildlife enthusiasts the area is superb, plenty of good walks locally and superb views. Can't wait to go back. A & S from Cheshire

Arriving at Kirkland was truly magical, with loch sween outside your front door. If you want a relaxing break this is the place to come. We came to Kirkland to see if we could see a beaver and with them only a mile up the road this was a perfect home to be lucky enough to stay in. Beautiful log burner lit and cake waiting on your arrival, and the view, what more could you wish for!!! Turn left out of Kirkland and drive for 10 minutes until the road ends and you will witness plenty of magnificent golden eagles!!! I will definitely be staying at Kirkland again in the future.

I think this is the best equipped holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Washing machine, dish washer, log burning stove with free supply of lovely logs, DvD, Sky+ tv,music system, landline phone, food in cupboard, a homemade cake, a fantastic collection of novels and wildlife reference books etc etc. We loved the tranquility of the setting and of the many woodland and lochside walks around. We also did lots of cycling. Surprisingly perhaps, flatter routes much more plentiful than at home, plenty of good mountain bike tracks as well. This is a special place. Highly recommended.

Fantastic cottage we know you will enjoy yourself. OK October is a tricky time for weather but hey on rainy days light the wood burner and settle in - books, mugs ot tea, etc etc. Lots to do around there. We mostly cycled. But also great restaurants and Crinan canal nearby and v. important go to Springbank distillery in Campletown, even if you don't like whisky its a working museum of this ancient indusry. Great location for exploring the Kilmartin Stone Carvings and beaver watching. Staying in is great too, we loved the log burner and big windows over-looking the loch. This place is better equipped than my flat but should you want anything else Jane and James will do their best to help out. For an active holiday or cosy get-away this place is excellent.

This the best holiday cottage ever. We discovered it in 2006 and this is our 4th visit. Jane and James provide everything for your comfort. It is a home from home. There is so much to do in the area you never get bored. The beavers have been released on a loch not far from the cottage.

Kirkland is the perfect holiday retreat - it's in a lovely location, by Loch Sween.

The property is very comfortable and very well equipped - it's a real home from home which is a credit to the thoughtfulness of the owners.

The area has many fabulous walks and shops, cafés and restaurants which are all within easy reach.

We will definitely be returning and highly recommend Kirkland.

We have been to Kirkland 4 times and the accomodation is great. It has everything you will need for a holiday. It's very compact and cosy with a wood burning stove. The owners go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. The location is particularly good if you like wildlife, the great outdoors and getting away from it all. You can launch a canoe (if you have one)within walking distance from the cottage and you can paddle out round the islands to visit the seals.

Make up of party:  We went first as a couple, then with friends and later with our baby. Had all conveniences for baby too.

After weeks of perusing the internet for a Christmas getaway we could not believe our luck when we pulled up outside Kirkland. A beautiful wooden lodge awaited us, set in its own wooded land with wonderful views over Loch Sween. It is secluded, yet within driving distance of inns/shops etc. There are numerous walks on your doorstep, and spectacular views of Jura beyond Castle Sween. The lodge itself is extremely well equipped, and our hosts Jane and James were always at hand should we have needed anything, thank you for making us so welcome! Kirkland is the perfect romantic retreat, and we will be back without hesitation. (Hendrik and Jayne, London)
