Description of the

Hartley Cottage is a substantial and most attractive detached thatched cottage situated at the head of a private gravel drive which serves a small selection of executive homes within the village of Winterborne Kingston. The rooms are light and good use has been made of reclaimed timber and brickwork. There is a large brick inglenook fireplace in the sitting room and the newly refurbished and quality kitchen/breakfast room has recently had a conservatory added to the side of it - perfect for a morning cup of tea whilst reading the daily newspaper and watching the birds visiting in the garden. The pretty and established English cottage garden surrounds with lawns, shrubs, decking and a fenced pond, bursting with toads and other wildlife. A stile accessed from the rear of the garden leads to a bridle path with access to rambler renowned footpaths, that spread for miles over Dorset fields. The village has a public house, the Greyhound Inn, which serves homemade food and local ales, a small shop / post office and a 14th century church. Within 20 minutes drive you will find Dorchester, the traditional county town of Dorset, the geological marvel that is Lulworth Cove and the upmarket town of Poole with its' popular sandbanks beach and famous harbour (the second largest natural harbour in the world) where you can take a trip to Brownsea Island, home of the Boy Scout and Girl Guide movements and one of the last red squirrel enclaves in the UK - a great day out for children and nature lovers. If you are looking for a quintessential traditional Dorset Country Cottage that evokes a picture of inviting thatch porches, warm timber beams, gatherings round roaring fires...but is dovetailed with modern day facilities, then Hartley Cottage is for you.
