Been meaning to sit down and do this for sometime, although our visit is still very fresh in our minds.

GREYSTONES

What a stunning area to visit firstly. We had a mixed week, weather wise, but this was not a problem, with this cottage being very cosy, warm and romantic.

There is so much to do from this location, we did the zip wire, walked on the beaches, and took in a couple of National Trusts, plus stopping off at many a pub ! (The Grapes a few doors away)

The cottage itself, was great to get back to after a great day out. The power shower was very inviting. The kitchen very well equipped for cooking our evening meals.

We had great fun lighting the massive log burner too.

We will be re-visiting Greystones next year for definite. "Can't wait"

Thank you both for your hospitality. [Added at Editor's discretion since it appears to be a helpful review and the reviewer has been authenticated]

I agree with review on 10/2011 really didn\\\'t like the place. It was very dark due to no windows in kitchen, bathroom and bedroom . The bedroom decor was awful and there was no wardrobe just a cheap rail for your clothes

Can\\\'t believe it can be described as romantic. The private sign on the very dark stairs really freaked me out I thought it was going to be a self contained cottage not the basement of someone\\\'s house. We had quite a major problem when we arrived at cottage which we have never received an apology for.

We have just returned from Greystones this evening and are already busily trying to make room in our schedule so we can return ASAP. We wanted a relaxing place to recharge our batteries but found this 'home away from home' to be so much more. With your every need thoughtfully predicted and attentively met, this is far from basic accommodation, boasting everything from dressing robes and slippers through to a full complement of kitchenware. We found the three evenings we spent there a real pleasure - sat enjoying a tipple in the lovingly-tended garden which boasts a seating area round every corner and a breath-taking view in every direction. Then, retiring indoors, it was time to recline on the comfy couches to while watching a film or two on the perfectly adequate TV. There's plenty of books and magazines to hand if you haven't brought your own, with a wide selection of titles to suit every taste. Among the property's greatest assets are Angie and Stan themselves. Friendly and attentive yet unintrusive, they leave you to enjoy the beautiful space they have created while being to hand should you need their assistance. We loved Clyde the cat too - a very welcome breakfast companion, who even joined us for a night cap. In short, if you are looking for comfort, luxury and a country idyll, book Greystones. It delivers all this and so much more.

Well firstly, reading the last review makes me feel very angry !!

We too have stayed at this property, and it is nothing like the views of the last people, we had a wonderful stay there.

We have very high standards, and it was everything we could wish for, very romatic, warm, with extremely well thought out plans, yes it was part of a 4 story georgian home, but some people welcome the fact of secure holidays. The owners very very helpful and would recommed Greystones to everyone.

As to value for money, what planet are they on ! You could not stop anywhere for this price and of this quality.

Make up of party:  A great place for 2 people sharing, would really recommend for a romatic relaxed break.

When you look at the photographh of this property it looks stunning. Most agents promote this as a Cottage/Villa and show photos of a beautiful interior and gorgeous garden. In my opinion, this is a Basement Flat as the owners live up stairs and rent out the basement. As a Basement flat, the property has only one window which makes it dark and stuffy - there is not a single window in the kitchen, not one that works in the bedroom and a single window in the lounger. It is very dark and gloomy without any views. The only way you can enjoy a view is to sit in the garden which is not practical in the Rain in October. The property is clean, well equipped but a little \'cluttered\' - the free broadband was welcome and whilst gloomy and air free, the bedroom was comfortable. The owners quest for gathering antiques sees a very large Grandfather clock in the corner of the lounge where it would have made sense to put a TV. The current TV (14inch) sits on the sideboard and is not really watchable. I believe the controls for the central heating were upstairs in the owners home - would have loved to switch off the boiler as the smell of the Oil was quite annoying. The Flat is promoted as both No Pets Allowed and Pets Welcome ( depending upon which agent you use )this is not really good for anyone with an allergy to pets. The Flat is well positioned for touring but in my opinion is not like any Cottage I have rented in the past.
